ME TV Channel 55 change to Spectrum
I loved having Channel 55 in the DFW area as a way to watch to wholesome shows of my childhood. When we moved to the Mckinney, TX
area we continued our DirecTV service and ATT Internet. We avoided SPECTRUM- WE DID NOT WANT SPECTRUM, AND NOW I'M STUCK WITH SPECTRUM INSTEAD OF MeTV. More and more I'm finding nothing but infomercials on all those channels. Isn't there some place, some open channel where MeTV can fit in?

There have been several posts on this. Direct's agreement is with channel 55 not with meTV. Why don't you ask channel 55 why they changed?

MeTv is mostly carried as a sub channel by local channels and DTV doesn't carry sub channels, an OTA antenna connected to the TVs digital tuner can probably receive MeTv and other channels DTV doesn't carry but you will need another DVR that can record OTA channels. No TV provider has any control over what a channel does with its programming or the commercials or infomercials.

DirecTV is nationwide, unlike Spectrum. So unless you cannot get good line of sight then you can have DirecTV. Don't know what you mean by channel 55 change to Spectrum.
Being a satellite service, DirecTV can only provide you locals that are in your Designated Market Area (DMA). It is possible that when you moved you crossed a DMA line, so may no longer get that exact channel.

Whether you are in a different DMA, or the owner of the METV feed moved it to a sub-channel (which DirecTV doesn't carry), then you can use a regular over-the-air (OTA) antenna to get whatever locals are within range.

Channel 55 used to carry METV. Recently they decided to carry Spectrum News on their main feed and move meTV to a subchannel which directv does not carry.
