Nbc

When will NBC be back online? This is ridiculous. I’m sick of hearing this (Edited per community guidelines) recording every day. My DIRECTV bill is a small car payment get the channel back or  send out free antennas if you can’t do that.

All the network feed carries is the same programing that the affiliate sends you minus the local programs.

I would enjoy having an option for just the network feed, or even going without them at all. But local affiliate owners (Tegna, Mission, Nexstar, etc.) have the TV industry in their favor on that. And that is for all TV providers.

Why is DIRECTV not apply more pressure to Tegna? There must be other options.  What are you attorneys saying?  I want my football back on NBC, Saturday Night Live……

DTV has no options except to cave in and pay Tegna what they want.

How do you expect DirecTV to apply more pressure to Tegna? What do you think happens during negotiations? Granted specifics are not shared with the public as it happens behind closed doors. Their attorneys aren't going to give you private info.

Bottom line is that Tegna is withholding the feed to get DirecTV to cave to higher costs. The better Tegna wins out means that much more on our bill.

If you cannot live with football or Saturday Night Live, either use a regular antenna if you can get signal, or check into any streaming options. Just some alternatives to allow you to wait out the negotiations. Also antenna isn't restricted by market lines so you can get whatever is within range, including any sub-channels that DirecTV doesn't carry.

I have eleven TVs. You expect me to by an antenna for each TV?  Direct TV should be buying the antennas for its customers.  You are the one in the TV business.  Figure it out.

Get a Tablo. One antenna connection and WiFi connection will allow you to stream off-air channels to every TV in your house.

I don't expect you to do anything. You can continue complaining with no change to the situation if you want. Antenna was only a suggestion as is a viable solution for some.

DirecTV has no obligation to provide you a antenna. They are satellite TV. That being said they previously were working on a Local Channel Connector (LCC), to replace their legacy AM21, to allow you to integrate a regular antenna directly to the box so you didn't have to change inputs and could record. Hasn't made it out of beta testing, partly because it didn't work with their newest box (Genie-2, HS17) and I suspect pushback from local channel owners like Tegna which don't want to give up their leverage.

I am not in the TV business any more than you are. As previously stated, this is a public forum of other customers. If you want to enjoy those locals while they are negotiating options have been suggested. In the end, it is up to you to figure it out.
