signal testing tuner 5
Enduring constant "signal testing" of tuner 5, sometimes accompanied by "recording" a premium purchase not made (not recorded or *charged*) on Tuner 4. Repeatedly interferes with scheduled recordings. Sometimes will correct with default corrective measure (i.e., "turn it off, turn it on")--not always, though.

Sorry, I was unclear about how the recording was destroyed -- it stops recording during reset and is not complete. Not an acceptable viewing experience. And because we are classic movie fans, usually it is a once only (for some indeterminate period of time). I consider that a destroyed recording (in toto, of course). Again, apologies for the imprecision.

Of course recordings stop when you press the red button you are removing power to the CPU to reset it.

Any device you reset will interrupt anything it is doing at that time. So just reset when nothing is recording, and nothing scheduled for a little bit, so you don't have that problem.
Think like resetting a phone. You cannot keep talking to someone while it resets.
