I was specifically asking about DirectTVStream. I know it’s available on regular DIRECTV. Seems like a relatively simple add.
That is backwards. The channel is on DIRECTV STREAM, not traditional DirecTV (satellite). Not a simple add as they must negotiate a carriage agreement and have the room available for another channel.
It is not on DirecTV as they do not have permission from the channel owner. They would have to negotiate a carriage agreement to do so. Whether they don't have the room in the satellite feed, could not get a good agreement, chose not to try to get an agreement as didn't see it worth it, or the channel owner refused negotiations, we consumers don't get to know those specifics.
If it is a dealbreaker channel, then you will need to look into a provider that has it.
@jtshep1 only time will tell if DIRECTV STREAM can strike a deal with your local market’s ME TV. As stated before, we are a group of customers just like you and only time will tell if this will happen. As ME TV is considered a sub channel, it does not pose as ‘important’ for most people in comparison to the big four networks (CBS, NBC, FOX, ABC).
If you want your opinion heard about ME TV for DIRECTV STREAM, I suggest you get in contact with them and have one of the agents document it down. That way, it will be passed on and perhaps taken if enough customers are in support of that channel.
Hoping they will add Metv. Heroes and Icons is a over the air sub channel as well and is carried nationally on DTV stream and is owned by same company as ME Tv.
That would be the important detail. DirecTV does not add sub-channels. Unless the channel owner moves it to a main channel, it is very unlikely DirecTV will ever get it unless they have a huge update to their broadcast infrastructure (i.e., new satellites) to handle the additional bandwidth of the many sub-channels nationwide.
I don't think it's solely a sub channel. Both Dish Network and Frndly Tv carry Heroes and Icons and MeTV as national feeds. Directv Satellite would only need to devote two channels nationally to accommodate these stations. Maybe they can get rid of 25 of the 50 PPVs or some shopping channels to keep up with channel demand.
An antenna doesn’t work where I live, which is on the opposite side of the highest point in the county. The broadcast towers don’t do a good job of reaching it.
Well, Directv Stream just added three "sub channels." Cozi, Grit and Bounce just appeared today on channels 80, 81 and 82. Now get MeTV and all will be good!
DirecTV (satellite) is the one that tends not to get sub-channels. DIRECTV STREAM is a different provider. Though it is also owned by AT&T, they have different agreements and capability for additional channels.

By why is it not on DIRECTV Satellite. That’s one channel I’d really like to see.

@JAL123 you have to understand though, several subscribers rely on that content, similar to how you want ME TV.
If you really need ME TV, you can simply buy a cheap $10 OTA antenna and hook the coax up to the TV and search for digital channels.
