Keep News 9 / News on 6 / CBS (Oklahoma)

One of the things that makes me and my family stay with Uverse TV is Our local Channels!
I rely on News 9 in bad weather! They have the best local coverage for Oklahoma

You'll have to call U-Verse about getting a credit.

 

Realize that these disputes eventually affect all service providers, not just U-verse, so switching providers isn't the cure.  It's station owner greed that's causing this, not AT&T.  Ask yourself why you should pay more to receive stations that broadcast over-the-air for free?  And be sure to also lean on the local station to settle this dispute.

I am very disappointed that negiotations have not been resolved between you and KWTV/CBS.  Living in an area that is notorious for killer tornados, I rely on this news channel to protect my family and myself.

 

KWTV promptly replied to my email when I emailed them. This was after receiving your message in the middle of a program that this channel was not available due to negiotations not being met. I still have not received any replies from AT&T

 

I am seriously considering leaving AT&T.  I have been a customer since 1993 (cell phones) and over a year for U-Verse.

 

I tried calling your 800 number, which is impossible to speak to anyone, because you are expreriencing heavy call volume.  I wonder why???

KOTV in Tulsa, OK is the only channel I watch for my local and national news.  I am very unhappy with the loss of this channel and am ready to switch carriers if it is not reinstated by Friday, January 8th.  You are a large provider verses a local station.  I'm standing by my local station in this war.

@Alacrity, Griffin (the owner of your local CBS affiliate) told AT&T, "you pay us morez or we cut you off."  AT&T wouldn't agree to pay morez.

 

Apparently Griffin has cut them off.  You should call Griffin and tell them to make a deal.

 

Cox will likely be in this same position in a couple of years and if AT&T agrees to pay more, Cox will be in a worse negotiating place.

@SuperMadre, I hope you are also taking this opportunity to tell Griffin (the owner of your local station) or your station, how unhappy you are that they've taken this hard line with AT&T and are refusing Retransmit Consent.

If KOTV is not turned back on in a few days, we will demand a refund for paying for services we are not receving and then changing providers (don't want to do that).  Please get it back on.  When will this happen?

Good luck with that.  AT&T guarantees no particular collection of channels in their tiers.  The situation with Griffin is unfortunate, hopefully they can reach a price increase that AT&T is willing to pay to get Griffin to give them back access to the channel.

Don't hold Uverse customers hostage while you negotiate with KWTV.

 

Many of us still have our connections available to Cox, and all we have to do is call them to turn it on and ATT off.

we are requesting CBS channel 6 be returned to on air broadcasting. We have been AT&T customers for several years and pay hard earned money to you monthly. We should not be the ones suffering because of a contract dispute you are having with this CBS affiliate. We are asking you to return this channel to our lineup selection or we will need to consider changing cable carriers. We will also be requesting a refund for our days we cannot watch CBS.
