No live sports on FS1?
I just read on the Fox Sports 1 site that it's contract with Uverse does not cover live events starting tomorrow (2/28) and Uverse customers will be blacked out from the Xfinity race at Atlanta (along with many other sports). Come on Uverse, get with the program and fix this please. Live sports are the main reason I still subscribe to your service.

what fox sports is doing is the exact same thing att does to us all the time, only difference is fox1 added programming , att usually just raises the rates for no apparrent reason on a already overpriced service, att execs should cancell some of their bonus checks and give us back our nascar

I blame all involved with no live programing being shown. I feel NASCAR should negotiate a new contract with espn and in their contract no raising rates mid stream,Otherwise fox sports 1 should be held to the contract they agreed upon.I hope att sues them. Also att should have warned its customers that this was going on so we could have tried to complain to fox sports1 to maybe have shown them how much of a mistake they are making. Also i have other options available to me so if this isn;t resolved soon i will look into those options.

Why does AT&T U-Verse think they are any better than all the other cable providers. They are the only provider who doesn't want to pay for the increased content on FS1. U-Verse did the same thing with the Cardinals back in 2012 and didn't show some of their games until the backlash from Cardinals fans. AT&T's recurring excuse is they want to keep rates as low as possible. That is laughable. My rates just recently went up and in April I will be losing my discounts and will be looking at around a $50.00 increase and if things don't change I will be looking for a new provider. I have been a loyal customer for many years but if this doesn't get settled I will be moving my services elsewhere....

I haven't read this whole thread yet but the part about FOX not showing the race isn't true. FOX isn't the final transport mechanism to my home, AT&T is. So once could say that AT&T isn't showing the race - though legally they may not be able to. So I would say both parties have some involvement here. FOX wants more *midstream* for newer coverage and AT&T is holding firm but we of course lose out.
I do hope that future AT&T U-Verse content contracts will have a clause that state that all new programming can only be increased at the main renegotiation time.

Whose to say you can only get one promotion and one promotion only? Call back and see what they can do...and I'm quite sure they can do something.

I guess if you wanted to get technical, "Fox is refusing to let AT&T show such-and-such programming." AT&T would gladly show it if they were allowed to. But if anyone says: "AT&T chooses not to show this programming," they're plain wrong.
Either way, FOX is the "bad guy" here because they're raising rates during the middle of the contract. I have a sneaky suspicision this is not normally the case with other channel owners.

The "final transport mechanism" doesn't make programming decisions. It's only a pipeline. It's like blaiming the highway for a manufacturer not delivering goods.
By your logic, I could say "AT&T isn't showing new episodes of Two & a Half Men" anymore.

I'm not defending anyone, I'm mad like you. But Fox Sports is sending the darts to ATT VHOs and ATT is showing the channel and I see it that Fox Sports are the ones not sending the Infinity race. That is indisputable.
Here's the ATT response from ATT Uverse Care I received and he also posted it in the initial thread about it Friday:
Hi Chris,
I reached out to my team, and they informed me of the following:
FOX Sports 1 is asking AT&T to pay additional fees for the NASCAR Xfinity Series, Big East Basketball Games, as well as U.S. Golf Association tournaments. While it’s important to us that we provide our customers with the content they want, we don’t believe that it is reasonable to pass on the added costs of carrying this programming to our customers.
Our strategy has always been to carry the sports our customers want most, but only through fair deals for our customers and our business. We won’t agree to a deal that would cause our customers to pay unreasonable rates.
Thank you,
David T
😉
Chris

Yes, @baseballisback I was getting a bit technical. Sorry. But I agree it is totally FOX's fault.
I just hope to heaven above that at new "main" contract time, they put a rider in there that says carriage is "for current and all future programming."
If I can be so bold to all of those who are complaining about the loss particularly of NASCAR's "second" series, I watch most of my NASCAR races via DVR. It's not ideal but my Saturdays and Sundays are usually busy. The first re-air was at Midnight Eastern. I usually FF through the boring parts and press play when I see green flag pitstops, cautions, battles for the lead and so on. Hopefully it can be resolved, soon.

How is it that other TV providers do not have this problem with FS1? Seems like Uverse is negotiating transmission contracts with Fox and the other media companies on the cheap with some sort of rider that allows Fox to open contract negotiations mid-term asking for changes to the deal.

FS1 is likely not under a normal contract like other channels as it took over Speed's slot, with FS2 taking Fuel's slot. There was a big hub-bub when FS1 launched as FOX wanted more money for FS1 than what it was getting for Speed.
As FOX was contractually bound to provide programming comparable to Speed, many providers stuck with the old deal, which paid FOX less money on a per-subscriber basis. I assume most of those old Speed deals have expired, except for AT&T, which would explain the mess going on now.
