My Direct TV remote asks to be paired each time I power up (turn on) my TV

I have a DirectTV stick, and my Direct TV remote asks to be paired each time the TV turns on. However, all of the commands on the remote work during the process. What's wrong.... How can I stop the message appearing.....

Everything except volume can be controlled from an adjacent room

Voice remote does not "HEAR" what is being said

When I push the button the voice command br shows up. But when I speak the command the "LITTLE WORM" just stays still and the "TRY SAYING" dialog shows up.
