Can I copy content from the Uverse DVR to a flash drive?

Can i connect wireless uverse receiver directly to the modem using wps without having WAP as a workaround without the need to wait until they ship me a new WAP ?

All other lights (LINK, HD, RECORD) come on indicating power to the cable box, but the green POWER light will not come on. And so I get a "NO SIGNAL" message on the TV screen. Can you help me with this ?
