DIRECTV dropping OANN?
How could you bow down to the WOK cancel culture demands to dropping OANN? They do not lie! The "big lie of the 2020 election" is absolutely true. There is mountains of evidence of the election steal. All the misinformation comes from liberals not conservatives! My husband and I will be dropping Directv if you go thru this in April. I will convince all our friends and family to do likewise. This is an attack on freedom of speech and our country. Shame on you!!!!

I do not have investment if OANN stays or leaves. Whichever result happens does not change anything for me.
And my other statement was related. Another user compared the situation to being an "early April Fools", so I pointed out some information hopefully to show why that seemed to go a bit far and be toxic to the discussion at hand. You may not like my posts, perhaps because I don't completely side with you, but at least I avoid insults and other general toxicity.

I was a long time AT&T cell phone customer. (over 20 years). I changed carriers since I was seeing how many corporations were pandering to so many special interest groups instead of just providing a service. Then once this was announced that AT&T / DirecTV was dropping OAN mainly from pressure from special interests, I started looking for options. I am currently but not for much longer a DirecTV consumer. I dont watch OANN all the time. I do look at many news sources and being a long time military member I can see propaganda and misinformation from most media. Most of the talking heads have never lived outside their country. They may have visited and been led around like the politicians, but never lived there. I have.
To get back to my main focus of this post. Once AT&T / DirecTV made their choice I made mine to seek options. What I found was I can get the same cell phone service for half the price and still on the same network. second for the TV I see so many options on streaming services and with TIVO equipment can get even more options for a third of the cost from DirecTV. Over The Air (OTA) alone I get 31+ channels even here in the rural South Georgia. All the major networks and more. Add the fiber optic internet service I have with NO band limits I can stream everything any time. All for less than DirecTV and I choose what to view not only what they offer.
DirecTV and AT&T did me a good service by making their decision to drop OANN and opening my eyes and looking at all the options I have and will partake. No use in thinking AT&T / DirecTV is going to change their decision on OANN but I did want to again voice my opinion.
I am a retired Military member with over 36 years of service. I lived in many of the countries in Europe and the Middle East. Not just on a base but in the communities. I served with Ukrainians, Polish, Turkish, Afghans as well as Germans, So all the WOKE nonsense is really silly to me. Strange that some think I have to agree and accept their way of thinking but, they dont accept mine. I learned a long time ago if I dont like a show or a network, I just dont watch. I found that changing the channel will do the trick.

@Ryannebe If you get a $25 (one time purchase) Roku device from your local Wal Mart, you can use your existing Internet to start getting one of the many many many streaming services out there, adding as many together as you wish. Many are free, some charge a monthly fee that you can drop at any time - no contracts. Some examples of those fees: KlowdTV is only $2.50 (yes two dollars and fifty cents) per month and it comes with OAN, along with several other channels. FRNDLYTV is only about $7.99/month and has all the Hallmark channels, UpTV, GetTV, Lifetime, A&E, others. The list goes on.
All you need is a decent high speed internet connection.

@Ryannebe: also - the picture quality will be identical to cable. Also - while you're at it - I would try picking up a digital antenna for your TV, if you haven't used one before - or if its been years - then you'll be pleasantly surprised at how much has changed in that world. Again - picture quality is identical to cable, because broadcast is all high def digital now. The new digital antennas can be placed on a table top in your house, they are small - the size of a standard magazine - and you can try one out for about $30 or so and see what happens. And all the viewing is FREE. My mother lives with me and we have a ton of streaming services now - Disney+, Hulu, Klowd, FRNDLY, BritBox, BlazeTV, yet she probably watches the free broadcast channels more than anything

Why did you drop OAN from your lineup? That is a great channel. We left AT&T/DirecTV because you caved to woke, evil, dangerous
people who want America to be remade in their image. Please stand up to these thugs and bring OAN back. You will gain new customers if you do. Thanks!

Thank you @Ironandice . Many will write but I suspect many like myself have already left DIRECTV… right now I’m enjoying VUTVPLUS which includes OAN and has a better overall package for only $15.95 a month. Thank you for motivating me to look at other options DIRECTV Board Room. I will still write a letter though letting them know what many customers including myself are doing as a result of them welcoming partisan politics inside of their company.
I love the word “Patriots” BTW but a flower lurking about keeps making derogatory remarks about it. Anyways, Many of us are indeed still fellow PATRIOTS.

We will also be dropping Directv for cancelling OAN. I am shopping our options for getting OAN from a source that does not drive censorship of conservatives while supporting the left agenda.
Others who will be dropping Directv are two of my brothers and one more of my friends. I have already had two friends who have cancelled in Rio Vista. They have posted on Next Door in their over-55 community of 3,000 homes. I am putting the word out on ND in Sunnyvale; a city of 175,000.

If you cancel OAN , you are cancelling free speech. Your subscribers may have to cancel your service.

Your opinion is only your opinion and is not most people's. You or anyone else truly does not have the right to censor what other people believe.

@bherber do you have any factual and unopinionated data which supports your assertion of “Low IQ Voters” ? There is plenty of well documented data which blows a hole through your stated hypothesis. Frankly, I as a con..serv..ative find it offensive that you believe our party is LOW IQ and you insinuate your above everyone in this forum.
Please respect ALL Lives; we are all created equal in the eyes of God.

“This study examines three other measures of cognitive ability from the GSS: a test of probability knowledge, a test of verbal reasoning, and an assessment by the interviewer of how well the respondent understood the survey questions. In all three cases, individuals who identify as Republican score slightly higher than those who identify as Democrat; the unadjusted differences are 1–3 IQ points, 2–4 IQ points and 2–3 IQ points, respectively. Path analyses indicate that the associations between cognitive ability and party identity are largely but not totally accounted for by socio-economic position: individuals with higher cognitive ability tend to have better socio-economic positions, and individuals with better socio-economic positions are more likely to identify as Republican.”

Thanks for the, as usual, irrelevant source. I stand by my statement.
