DIRECTV dropping OANN?

How could you bow down to the WOK cancel culture demands to dropping OANN?  They do not lie!  The "big lie of the 2020 election" is absolutely true. There is mountains of evidence of the election steal. All the misinformation comes from liberals not conservatives!  My husband and I will be dropping Directv if you go thru this in April. I will convince all our friends and family to do likewise. This is an attack on freedom of speech and our country. Shame on you!!!!

Do you have any idea how many customers will remove Directv if you drop/remove that network/programming? I know one for sure, me and several others

They closed our 86 page thread that was in effect for the past 2+ months.  They don't care if they are losing customers over this.  I'm out before my next billing cycle hits, still clearing off my DVR (up to 91% free now) and have my alternates already in place.  Have OAN on my DVR all the time unless I'm watching a recorded program or occasionally flip to another channel.  I've been considering dropping DTV but since they have OAN, I've stayed but this is the last straw.  You can find OAN on KlowdTV if you have a Firestick or Roku, and their website also offers a streaming service.

Here is the original thread that they just closed recently.  There is a lot of good info in there: https://forums.directv.com/conversations/community-lounge/directv-dropping-oann/61e2fc1ff693d71b8f6f5cac

DTV / ATT.

If you opt to sensor what your customers can see by removing channels like OAN then i will cancel the service.

This is the difference between this country and China, N Korea, and others that WE the customers can choose to not give you are money when you want to censor what we see.

Shame on you!!!!!!!!!!!!

Because you can choose your provider, this is not censorship. Nothing requires DirecTV to continue doing business with OANN. They have opted to part ways upon the current carriage agreement ending. If that is too much for you to handle, then certainly find another option you like that has OANN.

Only if DirecTV filtered the feed that OANN sent to them would it be censorship.

OAN must not be dropped, it's following is large and growing.  Dropping the channel in response to the wokies pressure is just wrong.  Free speech in our country is under attack every day and must be stopped.  If DTV follows through with their plan to drop OAN, I and many, many others will drop DTV like a hot potato.

Agree. I am disgusted at the cancel culture in America and that ATT is contributing to it.  CNN and MSNBC literally lie all the time and pretend they are news channels when they simply do the bidding of the DNC.  This has been proven repeatedly.

OAN tries to counter the main stream news (Edited per community guidelines) and offer a different perspective, and they do not spew lies even though the uneducated like to pretend  otherwise.
Those that cancel are afraid of the truth and networks like OAN.

According to your e-mail you are removing both AWE and OAN on April 4th. If this happens my household and everyone that I can convince will remove ourselves as customers of ATT/DIRECTV!

My family will be moving service to another provider very soon. Why would DirectTV remove a newsworthy channel with millions of followers over a failing (Edited per community guidelines) channel like CNN, MSNBC< NBC< ABC<CBS and others that don't have as near the followers if you added them all together? The American People want the TRUTH and all you are doing is cancelling our (Edited per community guidelines) views and the Truth. The American people will have the last say in this. Better inform your share holders in advance. Are you not providing service to ALL people?

My family agrees with you. We are gone and lots of people I know are too. If they choose a (Edited per community guidelines) arm of the corrupt radical left, the they do not want us American patriots that love America and want the TRUTH.

Why are you cancelling OANN?  That is one of many news perspectives necessary for me to gain a comprehensive picture of what is happening in the world. We need the right and left-leaning news sources to understand the full picture.  Is this change a reflection of ATT bias?

I'm so disappointed that Direct is dropping the best, most original and factual News program on the air at this time. Hoping you will reconsider your very unpopular decision to do so!

I received an email informing me that One American News is being removed from your line-up due to "misinformation" and "issues with contesting the 2020 election results". This will take effect on April 4th, 2022. I have been a DIRECTV customer for decades and have enjoyed the programming until receiving this petty political decision from your "fact checkers". If DIRECTV is truly concerned about misinformation and lies, it should first confront CNN, MSNBC, ABC, NBC and the other fake news networks regarding their constant lies supporting the corrupt Biden regime. We the People know the 2020 "election" was manipulated and corrupted using mail-in ballots, programmable voting machines and ballot harvesting to install an illegitimate "president". That is NOT a conspiracy theory, it is a fact. Whether someone believes this or not, channels that discuss this possibility should not be silenced. I disagree with how most everything is presented by CNN and MSNBC, but I would not demand they be cancelled. Free speech still exists in America. We know the executives at AT&T/DIRECTV/ESPN/Disney, etc. hate President Trump and are overly concerned about wokeness and political correctness...so much so that they are willing to engage in cancel culture and ignorant suspensions. If AT&T/DIRECTV has made the stupid decision to remove OAN (or any other programming outlet) because of "misinformation" or "false information" then I will be cancelling my DIRECTV account on April 4th, 2022. I have other options which I will pursue. Again, I have been a DIRECTV customer for 20+ years but this attempt to control what your customers see or don't see is totally unacceptable. I will encourage my many friends and acquaintances to do the same. It makes no sense whatsoever to alienate 70-80% of the population in order to send virtue signals to the other 20-30%, if that many. Letting a small minority whose voices are amplified by social media cow AT&T/DIRECTV, and too many other woke corporations, into quietly accepting - or at least not speaking up about - things that are obviously wrong not only runs counter-intuitive to one's common sense but is just plain petty, immature and, well, stupid. Pew Research Center recently reported that 6% !!!! of the electorate are far-left "progressives" who believe the kind of radical "social justice" views that are being forced onto the rest of us. Ironically, these champions of "diversity and inclusion" are mostly young, white, college-indoctrinated (not necessarily educated) atheists who've decided that their point of view is the only one that's allowed to be expressed. At 6% of the population, it is the classic case of the tail wagging the dog. The fools overseeing AT&T/DIRECTV have made the decision to join the 6%ers and offend a very large portion of their customer base. So, so long DIRECTV and may the coming negative financial lessons have a positive impact on what decisions are made in the future. Very sad.

I know DIRECTV is canceling, and maybe I will cancel them. I thought ATT DIRECTV was a better service for having OAN. I hope they loose customers for making a bad choice.

We should have a choice to decide what news channels we decide to watch. Why are you canceling OANN? Not a wise decision. You will lose a lot of customers!

This is the most watched channel on my TV. Without it, What's the point in keeping Directv?

Dropping OANN is a big mistake!  You are going to lose many customers including us!

We are a 15+ year AT&T customer and now you will be cancelling our DirectTV subscription, our AT&T Internet and our AT&T Cell phone.

I hope it's worth it.

We pay our bills on time for years.  And yet will invest money on channels we are not asking for and force the Hollywood entertainment crap channels on us but you WON'T give us the one channel we want..OANN.

Let's see how that works for you.  Not only are you losing a customer, we are going to be switching to your competition.

You can say it's because of contracts but we all know it's because you don't want the ONLY CREDIBLE news channel to have the viewership it does going into elections.

I encourage everyone to make your voices heard.  A service technician told me they are required to log calls and complaints.  Flood them with our voice and displeasure at losing OAN!

Good luck DirectTV!

Why would you drop one of the fastest growing cable news networks!  One America News is a straightforward, honest news network with integrity.

Why don't you get rid of CNN, one of the most dishonest networks with ratings that have been in the toilet for a long time!

Please feel free to let your AT&T bosses know that I will be looking for other alternatives for my internet, wireless as well as my TV service.

Or you can change your minds and tell AT&T to stop the virtue signaling.

These big dogs wince when they lose one customer on one service. What will they do when hundreds of customers pull the ATT plug for all their services? They must have some deep pockets lined up to bail them out.

Tonight we called to cancel our subscription to DirecTV. We were offered a $600.00 savings over our next year's billing. We declined. We will be on until April 6.

OAN is going away??? So may we.  I could get on a tirade about your censoring what I watch, but it would do no good.  If OAN and AWE are being discontinued we will probably discontinue all of DIRECTV,  Your prices go up and the service goes down.  I have to pay for those (Edited per community guidelines)ed sports fees and don't watch a lick of them, but you get rid of the one two news channels where we are not fed bigoted (Edited per community guidelines) all day and you get rid of them.  This is still America, not spelled with a k, as in Russian Amerika, and I don't think this will go over very well.  I suppose you will continue with CNN---what a waste of electrons.

I have been with Directv for over 20 years, and this is the first time I have commented.  The only thing I can think of is that Directv has swallowed the Kool-aid now.  I am a moderate Republican and try to look at both sides of the coin, but you are trying to force us into a school of thought that is one-way.  I'm extremely disappointed that Directv is now part of the Woke culture, and supports taking our freedoms away little by little.  I'm now looking to switch to Verizon.

Our household feels the same way.  They are silencing the OAN voice.  I don't see anything happening to CNN or MSNBC!  Garbage TV.

We are a 15+ year AT&T customer and if OAN goes away we will pull our DirectTV subscription, our Internet and our Cell phone.

If Dish or another provider is smart they will offer OAN because many of us will migrate there!

We are one small voice but we are not going to stand by and take this.

Why is OAN and AWE leaving?  If they go so will my business with ATT cell and DirecTV. I will not support businesses that hate America and free speech. Very disappointed and ashamed of American companies that embrace WOKE liberalism politics.

We are doing the same thing!

We feel they are shutting down this channel because they don't want it airing during mid-term election time.

We will be leaving if they don't change this policy.

I just spoke to a Direct TV customer service and he made it sound like it's not a done deal.  I don't know if I believe him.

DirecTV is cowering to left leaning influence such as a letter from two members of Congress, Anna Eshoo and Jerry McNerney, both Democrats from California, in which they ask AT&T:"Are you planning to continue carrying Fox News, Newsmax, and OANN on U-verse,
DirecTV, and AT&T TV both now and beyond any contract renewal date? If so, why?"

It was for us too. The last day OAN is going to be broadcast on DirecTV is April 4, 2022. For that reason our subscription to DirecTV is ending on the 6th. We called the Retention/Loyalty Department with our decision. DirecTV has been our provider since they purchased Primestar. Of course they made a very nice offer to keep us but we declined. Dropping OANN is the dealbreaker for us.
