Can you please list ALL fees that will be charged for a monthly total?

Our contract will be up on May 8, 2020. We are currently reviewing all options with other providers. I know that our DirecTV monthly rate will be going up for Select to $85 plus a 2nd TV access fee of $7. Besides the two fees stated, what other fees will we be charged? Is DirecTV charging HD DVR fee after our contract expires? If you can please list ALL fees and/or any equipment fees that will be charged for a monthly total, it would be helpful. We are only interested in DirecTV service. We will NOT need internet service. Do you have any offers available for current customer for customer retention? Lastly, I was not able to locate the CHAT button like I had previously used that feature. Can someone with DirecTV answer my questions??

The HD fees are for the account and will continue so long as the account is active, other then the annual price increase and taxes and anymore additional TV fees nothing will change when your contract ends.

This is a customer to customer forum the only employees here are on their own time and can't speak for their company per forum rules.

Chat is only available when there is a CSR available to receive them.

The $85 would be Select "All Included". This means you 1st TV fee and the receiver services for the account are part of that cost. The breakdown compared to those who don't have it "All Included" is itemized as Select $62.99 + Advanced Receiver Services $15 + Primary TV fee $7 is $84.99 and rounding the penny to make it look good at a flat $85. So you are not charged on top of the $85 for the TV fee and receiver services as they are already there.

I would caution as DirecTV is a 12 month introductory discount with a 24 month service agreement. So discount ending would not mean your service agreement is ending. The one exception is if at start you bundled DirecTV with a qualifying AT&T service that gave a 24 month discount on the package only portion of the bill.

The "chat" function is only there when an agent is available. It does not have a hold option like calling in where you wait in line. I would caution on using it as it is supplementary with customer support, and recently the quality of info provided is questionable.

This is a customer to customer forum, not DirecTV official support. You will need to call DirecTV and when you get the voice system to say "cancel" so that you are routed directly to their cancellation/retention department. Be aware that it is doubtful to be any possible good offers until the service agreement has actually ended, not 2 months prior.

Thank you Juniper for your detailed information. One more question if I may ask of you. What happens if we let it lapsed, would this be an automatic renewal for another 24 months with a 12 months price @ $85? Or, would this be on a month to month basis? We are only interested in the DirecTV. We would cancel the Internet service. Thanks again!

All the 24 month service agreement means is you keep DirecTV for that time, otherwise have an early cancellation fee (ECF) valued at $20 for each month remaining. Once the agreement ends it does not automatically renew, so you are month to month at that point.

Your internet service will have no effect on your DirecTV service agreement as they are different providers, even if also owned by AT&T.

The only things that would affect the agreement would be upgrades of equipment, Movers order, and in some cases certain $12 or 24 month discounts. All of which send an order confirmation for your reference.

Any discounts should be listed on the bill, such as $20 off for 12, 1 of 12 (and then 2 of 12, etc.) so you know exactly when they end and by how much. No new charges are added when discounts or your service agreement complete. So I highly suggest reviewing over the recent bill to make sure how much the discounts are so you know what to expect when they end.

Thanks again Juniper for the info! Based on what we are currently paying for our monthly DirecTV, our rate will go from $81 to $85 a month with a 2nd TV access fee of $7. We are in the 2nd year of our 24-month contract and will end on May 8, 2020. We are NOT receiving any discounts for our DirecTV monthly service currently. So, once our contract ends on 5/8/2020, we will be on a month to month service with DirecTV and can cancel at anytime. Am I correct on this? We want to see what our bill will look like after 5/8/2020, before we decide as to whether to stay or go with a different provider for our TV service.

If you are not receiving any discounts currently, then pricing shouldn't change at all when the agreement ends. The additional TV fee does not add once the agreement ends as it would already be there. If you have 2 TVs, then the Primary TV fee is included in that of the Select All Included $85 and you would only have a single $7 fee already listed. So no new charge to add.

You can cancel at any time. However, you pay for the entire service month even if you choose to cancel partway through the bill cycle. So if you do choose to cancel, it is best to do so at the end of the service month to get the most out of what you pay for. This is because DirecTV has gone to flat billing instead of prorating the bill, like many other companies.

While you can cancel at anytime you will still pay for and receive service until the end of your billing cycle.
