Canceled Direct T.V.

I canceled my Direct T.V.  on Jan.19, 2021.  I was told I was pd up until Feb 13th.  After that I would recieve an email with instructions on mailing back the equipment.  I looked at my Bank statement today and the payment was taken out again.  Please remove Direct T.V. from my Century Link bill and issue my bank a credit.

Thank you

DirecTV (not Direct T.V.) bills CenturyLink, then they put that on their next bill. This means you are usually a month behind with a combined bill (not past due). It is possible that the CenturyLink bill is for your final month of service. Check the dates for DirecTV service on that bill.

In any case this is a public forum of other customer that does not have access to your account. You must call DirecTV if you need to discuss your cancellation. If you were to post the model numbers of your boxes we could give guidance if returnable or not. If any are then here is their current return process.

How To Return The Equipment

Go to a FedEx or UPS location with your account #. No need to bring a box or label, the equipment will be boxed it up & shipped out at no charge. The process takes less than 5 minutes.

Same thing is happening to me. I cancelled my service back in December. Returned all my equipment and just received another bill from DirectTV! When I go to direct.com/billpay it takes me to the AT&T website where it says my service has been cancelled. What AT&T is not telling you and where they are being very deceptive, is you also have to call DirectTV in addition to AT&T to cancel your service. I have an AT&T account number as well as a DirectTV account number and they are not one in the same as AT&T presents it on their billing website. Completely fraudulent if you ask me and the reason why I will never do business with AT&T/DirectTV again.

We have been calling and begging Direct Tv to please send us a return box and labels because we have no place to drop off the equipment. Direct Tv keeps saying they sent them but it will take 2 to 3 weeks for the boxes to get to us. I think they are going to steal our money by charging us for the equipment. I have been logging the dates and times that I have called them. I see others are having the same problems.

@btfearon

If AT&T services were canceled, but not DirecTV, then you could still access your TV bill online. Only once DirecTV is canceled is the account no longer viewable online.

@Nanisworld

Though there are shipping issues per low staffing and restrictions from Covid, what are the models of each box? Might as well double check if they are returnable in the first place.

If you get billed any NRFs, upon them receiving back those charges are reversed (usually within 48hrs of delivery). So hopefully at the very least that is all resolved before you pay the bill those charges would show on.

I have contacted Direct Tv so many times it is beyond ridiculous .. I just completed another hour phone conversation with them verifying the equipment I have and verifying that NO BOXES have yet to arrive at my house! They tell me the same thing over and over... that it takes up to three weeks to get the return kit boxes and labels. In the mean time the 21 days are now over and they can charge me. It says right on the bottom of the letter from them that if they do not receive the equipment they will charge and the charges will NOT be refunded. It is quite odd that if you purchase something from them ... it is on your doorstep the next day but trying to return items to avoid being charged is a fairy tale that direct tv makes a fortune off of. Just think about it. They charge you for the equipment when you get it, they rent it to you for numerous years then they delay sending you the return box kit so they can charge you for keeping the equipment you want out of your house so you can be done with the nightmare. Go figure!
