DirecTV no electronic bill
Got an email that my bill is ready. For the next three days I check and get the message that my bill is not ready when going online to get the bill. After spending 30-minutes on the phone, DirecTV will send me a paper copy of the bill. There is a $5 charge to get a paper bill but they will wave the fee since the problem they are having is NOT my problem.
Is DISH any better? DISH is less money than DirecTV.

DirecTV is having a system error viewing the bill (certainly not common), and they have reasonably waived the normal fee for sending a replacement paper bill. So there is a small problem and they are accommodating you. And after that explanation, even with screen shots, you want to know about Dish? Seems DirecTV took care of you and hopefully this is just a one-off occurrence of the issue.
Personally I am not a fan of Dish because of certain billing practices and that they are known for padding their number of channels (counting the SD and HD channels of the same network as separate channels). Plus they charge $10 to $17 for each additional box depending what level it is, as opposed to DirecTV simply having receiver services that cover the account and just a small $7 additional TV fee to mirror access no matter what kind of box it is. So at multiple TVs Dish can be more expensive, as opposed to DirecTV which keeps simple flat rates.
Hardware wise however, DirecTV is having trouble keeping up, especially with their atrocity the Genie-2 (HS17) restrictive system. But as long as one goes no further than the main Genie line with regular HDDVRs, and stays away from the Genie-2, then DirecTV stays strong.
Only you can choose which is better for you. For me it is still DirecTV, but I am keeping an eye on how their system is going forward. If they come out with a regular HDDVR that is SWM-only then I will be relieved. Bonus if they make one that works with the Genie-2 (even if only for any future models after the HS17).
