How can I get a Directv support person on the phone that knows what DNS is and who can assist me with getting DSN for my RV?

DTV doesn't handle RV accounts you need to contact the RV dish maker or an RV dealer that installs DTV to start the paperwork. The dish has to be mounted on the RV.

The only way to get those DNS channels is to get a Travelers Account. You get those via RV dealers.
Also, older RV dishes and Receivers will soon be obsolete as DirecTV shuts down MPEG2/SD channels from the 101ºW satellite.
What Receiver and Dish models do you have?

DirecTV handles the account once activated. Before then, the paperwork and processing is done through the RV dealer for the Travelers package that allows DNS for the RV.
It is not just accepting DNS service. DirecTV is shutting down their MPEG-2 (SD only) feeds. Process began April 2019. So DNS or not, you must have a normal slimline SWM dish or the Wingard Trav'ler as those accept DirecTV's MPEG-4. Any other dish/dome would be MPEG-2 only and will soon become a paperweight. The DirecTV box also must be MPEG-4 of course.
