Fraud
First problem - I have At&T cell phone and DirectTv. When I login to DirectTv I am routed to AT&T. Once on AT&T I cannot see anything about my direct tv account. When I try to combine my accounts I get message that I must call a number. Called that number was disconnected. I need to be able to login to see my DirectTv account.
Second problem - I received a phone call stating that there was a special offer to lower my DirectTv bill. The offer would drop my bill by 1/2 and add all the premium movie channels. I said yes. The person was able to add the movie channels so now I have those. I don't want to pay for them. I want to lower my bill. The person told me I have to pay $660 by Ebay Gift card to activate the offer. They gave me a phone number to call to make the payment. That sounds like fraud to me. I have now been on the phone for over 2 hours being transferred around. Some of the agents can't locate my account, some can but don't know anything about what packages I have. No one I talked to was interested in me providing the phone numbers I was given to make the bogus payment. I got to one recording that said I was on the Fraud line but the person I talked to couldn't even find my account.
Bottom line, I want to lower my bill. I do not want to pay for the movie channels. I am uncomfortable with the integrity of DirectTv as my package has been changed due to a fraudulent offer.
What I need
1. ability to login to direct tv to verify what package I have
2. lower my bill, at the very least I do not want to pay more

That is a scam there is no Ebay promotion they called DTV and impersonated you to add the premium channels.

I also received this phone call. I am very confused as I do have the free movie channels now but I am not using an Ebay gift card to pay. I am using the chat box now to try to get some more info. She says I am not paying for the movie channels but this just seems very sketchy.
I was on hold for quite some time during this phone call.

That was absolutely a scam by criminals. It is a common one going around. They have you pay by a gift card since it is an untraceable source of funds. Once paid, your money is gone. They also use this call to try and get you to give out personal details so they could do worse.
I would clear the cache/cookies of your browser as since the integration of the logins there has been some changes that conflict with older data. When you go to www.directv.com and log in, it should walk you through verifying the AT&T login. Once that is done, you can still go to the DirecTV website but when you login you have the option to watch any streaming options or manage account which redirects you to the AT&T website. At that point you just click the links, or option in upper right, for the service and bill you want to manage.
DirecTV does not call to lower your bill. You call them to discuss your billing. Right now there are little to no discounts. They have had to pull back while they are dealing with a concern of customers operating at a loss because of too much in specials. Certainly ask if any new discounts are available, but expect that there will not be. So review the channels you watch to reduce service to fit your budget.

I would also consider updating passwords for your accounts and emails. Keep an eye on your accounts and credit report for suspicious activity. As any information those crooks pretending to be DirecTV social engineered can have devastating results.

The woman on the chat through Directv online is still trying to get me to use the Ebay gift card. I know this is a scam and I'm not doing it but I am concerned since I am on the ATT website.

Nobody from directv nor AT&T will ask for eBay gift cards. I’m thinking you clicked a link in the email and are in a bogus chat with criminals

Did you actually go to the directv website or tripe in an address they gave you

That would not be the valid website then. Either you typed in a fake website, or clicked a link which redirected you even if the site and address look legit.
In this situation it is best to close all browser windows (I would consider clearing cache/cookies), and run a virus/malware scam to be safe.
Going to www.att.com or www.directv.com are the valid sites, which I would suggest typing in to be sure.

I went through the website not an e-mail for the chat. They transferred me to another person who is telling me it was a scam. I do not understand why the first employee was telling me to use the offer but this second employee is telling me it was a previous offer..I am very frustrated with all of this. I just want to make sure I do not pay for the movie channels.

Just spoke with an employee over the phone. They said my husband called in to add the movie channels which he did not. She is removing the channels since they are not free and adding some security to my account. They are also escalating the situation. Not sure why the first employee I chatted with told me to go ahead with the scam but it is being resolved. Just wanted to update so anyone else has the issue knows that it is a scam and to contact ATT directly.

From other responses I have seen, I suspect chat is currently outsourced and the agents are making assumptions instead of checking the facts.
