MLB Sports Package Fee

According to a letter I read from ESPN which I accessed from your website, the MLB has suspended their starting games until mid-May. And that is a guess on their part, because they may not have a season at all.

Therefore, I am suspending my MLB payment for the season. If they do have a season, please feel free to bill me for the time they play. Here is the link I followed from your website:

https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/28923254/what-2020-mlb-season-look-once-gets-going

Sincerely,

Rhonda

What is ATT / Directv doing for those who purchased the package? Since the NBA and MLB aren't playing, are you going to refund or give us some money back? We've been on hold for over an hour. How do we deal with our bill?

Nothing will be refunded until they actually canceled any games. I've read that MLB Extra Ticket can be canceled up till they actually have the opening day set.

As noted above, nothing will be done until games are actually cancelled. As of now, they are only postponed. For NBA, they will likely issue credits if remaining games get cancelled. For MLB, if you don’t want to pay now, call and cancel. You can re-subscribe when the season finally starts. If you don’t cancel, you’ll just have to wait for whatever credits or adjustments they make.

After a while they start to blend together. Wonder if I've done so myself at some point. That would be Innings, not Ticket which is NFL.

I was automatically subscribed to mlb extra innings. I want to cancel. With the Coronavirus thing I can’t get anyone on the phone. I don’t want to pay for it!

Generally you cannot cancel premium sports packages, like NFL Sunday Ticket and MLB Extra Innings during their regular season. Of course, MLB hasn't actually started their season. But they haven't canceled it, either. At any rate, the only way to cancel is by calling. Be patient.

The MLB Season has not yet been canceled. If it is canceled, they'll refund your money.

@yyanks15 I don't know. Probably not. Unless MLB cuts the season short by 2 months.

@yyanks15 I can't give you an "official" answer. You'll need to call. I can only relay what I'm reading in other posts. Let us know what you find out.

With the start to the MLB Season completely up in the air, why am I being billed for the Extra Innings package when no baseball will be played for at least 60-90 days? Suspend the billing until MLB announces firm dates to start the season and "resets" what the costs will be for Extra Innings for what will surely be a shortened season ... I expect more from DTV, and if this isn't resolved quickly, I will be contacting the WA State Atty General's Office to file a complaint ...

Go ahead but until MLB cancels any games they will not refund any money and if you don't want to pay now then join the line of people calling DTV and cancel it.

Same with me. Unfortunately, there seems to be no way to contact Direct TV about this. They should know the problem.

Until MLB cancels the games there will be no refunds and you have to get in line with all the other DTV customers calling to cancel.

How can you possibly charge 30 a month for this service when there are no games in the near future or maybe not at all?

During this trying time, I would assume that you would be doing all that you can to assist your customers, not charging them for MLB Extra Innings when the season is canceled! Go figure I can't get in touch with a single human being to get this charge removed from my bill. How about a little support DirecTV? You should probably just remove MLB Extra Innings charges from any and all of your customers bills immediately.

It hasn't been cancelled yet only postponed, sports subscriptions auto renew no matter what pay tv provider you have. The auto renew system doesn't "know" anything about what's going on so it's just functioning as normal. UNTIL the season is actually cancelled it will be business as usual for ALL sports subscriptions across all providers that participate and offer that particular subscription, so it's not just DirecTV customers that are being billed.

Why is ATT/DTV already charging us for MLB when the seaon is not here and won't likely start for months? Instead of stealing cash now then possibly reimbursing, why isn't DTV waiting to start charges in these unusual times to give customers a break?

because at&t still has to pay MLB on time, they have postponed the season not cancelled, i would assume if they cancel the season or cut short thatMLB will issue refunds to at&t then pass the refunds on to the customers

I am having a hard time dealing with Direct TV right now. I cancelled MLB when I received my bill with the first billing. After talking with someone, they said I was in the time slot to cancel so I asked to cancel. I paid the bill so I wouldn't get a late charge and the agent said I would get a credit on my bill. Next month came and no credit. I have called 4 times....each time saying a manager had to take care of it and I would have it credited. I took my billing off auto pay and did not pay this month. I should have enouth to pay this month and part of next since I paid for the season in whole. I am tired of being told yes, it will be taken care of and then nothing being done. What can I do next? This is really bad customer service.

MLB Extra Innings being charged with no content coming. Direct TV's response is?

Note: This comment was created from a merged conversation originally titled MLB Extra Innings

**MAKE SURE TO KEEP THE CSR ON THE LINE** if you get through to DirecTV to cancel the MLB package! As reward for my hour-long wait to get a $30.50 refund for the charge for being wrongly charged on the March bill, I was charged ANOTHER $30.50 plus tax under an incorrect line item. Had to wait another hour for another rep, with whom I spent another hour and a half going in circles. They REFUSED to credit me not only for the original $30.50 charge, but of course not the new $30.50 plus $2.62 tax; instead, she issued me a payment arrangement -- for charges that should never have been there in the first place!!! DirecTV IS THE WORST IN THE WORLD. THE WORST.

The AT&T reps and non-reps responding to these posts are delusional and misinformed at best. Starting this past Thursday, MLB games ARE being canceled every day from now until they start the season (if they even decide to do so). Saying that the games are "suspended" is completely wrong; they are not being played, and that does absolutely nothing for everyone who is being wrongly charged for services not provided. Not a single person who is even half a baseball fan believes that they will play a full 162-game schedule this year, so the season may start later, but there is no possible way they will play a full season. So why should customers be paying for or charged with a full season of play? And how can you explain why my account was CHARGED an additional "installment" for MLB when I called to CANCEL? Geniuses, please answer that one.
