Returned receiver and still billed

Returned mini genie receiver 3/11/20 at UPS store. Kept my receipt. Called after 2 billing periods since it did not show any credit for return. Assured on 5-6-20 the next bill would show credit. It did not. Need help in getting to the right person to correct this. Seems to be a systemic problem with AT&T/Direct TV. Will probably call again but have little confidence in what they say.

If you returned a box late and were charged a non-return fee (NRF) then you should be credited within 48hrs of the box being received by DirecTV.

However if you weren't billed a NRF, then there is nothing to credit. Anything you paid for the box is the one-time lease cost that is not refundable.

Just for reference, a Mini Genie is a Client, not a receiver. It is an extension (Client) of the Genie and cannot work by itself.

@Juniper This has nothing to do with a late return. I followed all procedures to return the client. I was returning a client that I no longer used and do not want to be charged since it was returned. Do not want to pay for something I do not have or use. Granted it is a small amount but I pay enough for services and hardware that I do use.

If you are referring to the additional TV/Client fee of $7, you have to call DirecTV to deactivate the box off your account. Naturally you would do this when you are done with the box before you return it.

Returning the box doesn't automatically remove the fee. You have to call to deactivate it.
