TOTAL MISREPRESENTATION BY DTV

TOTAL MISREPRESENTATION BY DTV - DTV sold me a Premier Protection Ins Plan for ALL of my home electronics. $25.98 a month for 18 months. That is a total misrepresentation. It doesn't cover the one claim in 18 mos I tried to submit because my WiFi Router. That's apparently not a covered. I am now out over $500 and DTV says (effectively) "tough luck". WARNING: They raise my bills regularly and now their PREMIER PROTECTION PLAN is proven fake. Customer Service was no help. I will be cutting the cord and dropping DTV.

And to be clear, my Router is made by Netgear. Not some off brand.

DTV only raises the base package price once a year in Jan. so you need to look at your bills to find out why it is changing.

At $25.98 that should be the EPP with ADH. Routers are mentioned, so wondering exactly why the claim was denied. I would check the info on their protection plan page, including verifying the router was registered. https://www.att.com/directv/experience/protection-plan/

As raising the bills being "regular", well their price adjustment is only once a year in January. Anything beyond that would most likely be discounts completing.

So, I hear you all. The point here is that I was sold premier protection for ALL of my electronics. The rep who sold me the PP Ins program, stressed that ALL of my electronics would be protected. Not some. I use an Netgear OBRI Wireless WiFi ROUTER. Not some off brand. Netgear is a major brand, ORBI is a Top 3 Router. So,, I am out the $500 paid to DTV and I still have to buy a new Router. Like I said, DTV and I will soon be parting ways.

The plan doesn't cover all electronics in existence. But as I mentioned, it does list routers.

When I mentioned verifying it was registered, as in you had gone into the plan details and listed each of your devices to be covered (model, serial number, etc.). Just like many other types of coverage they must have the devices listed so not trying to file a claim on something that wasn't there to begin with.

I don't know why your claim was denied. So linked the information page where you could file the claim again or check that the router, and any other devices, were registered in the coverage.

If you want to part ways with DirecTV, that is up to you. I have no interest one way or another. Was just trying to provide information that was relevant and might have directed to a resolution to get this straightened out.
