771A only during the day
I just had a new install about a week ago and I am having a problem that I don't quite understand. Around 10:00 AM or so just about every day I am getting the 771A message on both of my receivers. The first day that it happened I called Direct TV and went through all of the troubleshooting tips with them and then set up for a tech to come out the next day. I work 2nd shift so when I left that day I was still getting the 771A message.
When I came home that night everything was working fine. I had perfect picture and sound, I checked the signal strength (which I learned how to do from this forum so thank you) and everything was good. The tech comes out the next day, early in the morning, around 8 and can't find any issues at all.
Later that day, around noon, I turn on tv and get the same 771A message. I go to work and when I come home at night everything is fine. That was this past Friday 8/26. Every day since then I have had the daytime 771A issue and at night it works fine. Does this make any sense?
Thanks in advance for any and all help I get from you guys

Sounds like a heat-related intermittent problem ....
Best to call DirecTV and insist that the tech check those things. Also try to check your signal readings when the problem is happening and post them back here.

As of 2:43pm everything is back on and working. Here are the signal strengths that I have now.
Started working around 2:30, TV actually startled me by just suddenly working...lol
The next time it goes out I will try too get a signal strength reading, but can you get a reading with the 711A problem, because I thought that meant that the receiver wasn't receiving a signal at all from the dish?

Those signal readings look great.
You should be able to still bring up the signal menu, even when the error is happening. Also try spraying cold water on the dish LNB. If it's a temperature sensitive LNB, then the cold water will make it work again.

is your power inserter plugged into a wall outlet that is controlled by a wall switch?
like maybe at night, you flip that switch on to turn on a lamp, and in the daytime, that switch is off?

Cool... Ill look up those reading tomorrow if it is off again, and i'll try cooling off the LBN as well
No, it is not plugged into a switch operated outlet, I have it plugged into the same outlet as my TV. I read that you should not plug the power inserter in to a surge protector so I plugged it directly into the wall

Ok... Same issue today, I checked the signal strength while I had the issue and I had all 0's As of now it is working again and I have similar numbers to what i posted above. I tried the spraying with water but I didn't see any immediate effects. I guess I'll call in a tech since I'm still well withing my 90 days
Thanks for all the advice and help
