On Demand content is controlled by the network, not the carrier. You should contact Bravo.

Thanks, Dave. Unfortunate reply. Bravo’s error then forces people like me to their app. And be subjected to their commercials. I pay Directv >$250/ month to avoid that. The answer to contact the network is simply not acceptable. I expect more for my money from Directv.

Guess Sling is right. Satellite fees are an excessive waste.

On demand is like that with ALL tv providers.

hmmm. If that’s the case, my $15.99/ month Netflix subscription with 4K quality, NO COMMERCIALS EVER, and no MISSING episodes EVER in series availability further supports a conclusion that a $250 monthly Directv subscription is RIDICULOUS.

DirecTV pays for a bundle of channels/networks to rebroadcast to customers. They maintain their own infrastructure (satellites in orbit) to delivery the service and provide you their equipment.

Netflix doesn't have channels, but individual content. They rely on another companies infrastructure (your internet provider) to carry the service, as well as 3rd party equipment to delivery it to you since they don't have equipment of their own. That is why Netflix is initially a lower cost as they pass on all those other costs. And remember streaming services are not the same cost as when they started as they are going up as well.

Live TV from the channels for variety and where shows tend to start, or streaming which tends to be more dated content (other than their "originals" of course). And not everybody has good enough internet, if internet at all, to support streaming. So you go with the provider that works best for you. They are aimed at different markets, though some have both.

But $250 a month for DirecTV seems to be on the high end (Premier package?). So if nothing else I would review the channels you enjoy to see about reducing service to a better fitting package.

As for 4K quality, most of that content is not true 4K but upscalled. There is very little actual 4K content in existence.

There is no guarantee that any episode will always be available through On Demand. It is up to each individual network on what is in their library.

So if there is a listing for the episode but an error with downloading, then that is an issue with their library. But if the episodes are just not listed at all, then there is nothing to fix as it is not made available at this time. Most networks do not make all episodes available all the time. Only the premium channels with their original shows come close to that (though occasionally maintenance on their end might make some episodes unavailable temporarily)

thanks, juniper. Since the referenced series has seasons one through three with all episodes available, and season four with episodes one through seven then 13 through 18 available, I hope this is a technical oversight.

In any event, I expect better from my unjustifiably expensive Directv subscription. The answer of “take it up with the network” is not acceptable.

No TV provider can mandate what programming a channel has available, either in the (Edited per community guidelines) or On Demand. Essentially the TV provider may only provide you what is given to them in the first place. So On Demand connects to the network's online info, but has no influence on what info is available.

On Demand has commercials that can't be FF that is why they are provided to all providers at no addional cost. Just because you don't like the answers doesn't change them.

Shannon, thanks, but that is simply not true. Check out Below Deck Mediterranean on DTV’s on demand seasons 1-4. Episodes with no commercials- the way it should be for subscribers.

Commercials are forced into the Bravo app.

Peace.

Not all On Demand locks the FF/REW options and forces commercials on you. However, more and more networks are doing that. Essentially the channels treat the On Demand that is downloaded to your DirecTV box the same as on their individual websites. Personally I find that unethical. On their own website they can do what they want, but since it still comes through my DirecTV box they should not be able to disable a service (DVR feature) that I am paying for.

The loophole the networks are abusing needs to be closed.
