Can I work Direct TV with Yamaha YSP 5100 remote or better yet vice versa?

Mainly want on and off function and as we only have a Blu ray into the YSP along with DTV one HDMI  out to TV we need to be able to power on and off and control volume mainly.  Spouse is adamant we get it down to one.......(DTV remote now controls Mits TV which is fine but either want DTV remote to control both , which is the top option for us (not super concerned about the Blu ray) or have Yamaha control the DTV

Btw- the way remote is late model unit with HD-DVR- 21-700
