CONNECTING

I had the original Genie and was able to watch from my VCR/DVD combo as well as record on to them from recordings in my Genie. I now have the Genie 2 and can't seem to find anywhere how to connect and do the same. Please help.

The Genie-2 (HS17) doesn't go on a TV itself so has no such outputs. You will need to check the outputs of your Mini Genie Clients instead.

Be aware that if your Genie-2 ever has an issue all TVs go down as they cannot work without the main box. Plus you are hard capped at 7 tuners. This is because the Genie-2 (HS17) forbids receivers from being on the account and only allows Clients instead. The regular Genie line (HR34, HR44, HR54) allows other receivers like HDDVRs making it a more capable system overall.

It's a C41W that I now have. I understand that they're no outputs on the back of it. I have converters that I'm hoping will help connect everything. I can get the DVD player to play, but can't seem to get it to connect so that it can record new programming I have recorded in my new Genie 2 (C41W). Any suggestions?

The C41W is not a Genie and can't record anything it is a mini client and it has the A/V output that needs the composite 10 pin din cable to get the yellow red/white RCA plugs to connect to the VCR to record from the C41W and you have to connect the VCR to the TV to watch it.

Thank you for your help. I really appreciate it. I don't have that cable so I'll head out to find it and if I have any trouble I'll be back lol

Look online as most brick and mortar stores don't carry it.
