Diagnostic Code 3
I'm getting Diagnostic Code 3when I tried to send a Report. No one at DBStalkseem to what Diagnostic Code 3 is supposed to mean. They start at 10.

I believe diag code 3 has something to do with internet. Could be mistaken. I will let you know for sure on Thursday if this is still an issue.

r u sure the diagnostic code isnt diagnostic code 13 instead of 3 becuase there is not a code 3

drucifer is running CE software with the IAMANEDGECUT TER keyword, so this code may be unique to that setup. I've never seen it before.

No message - that's the problem. It gives me no idea what it is associated with it.

I did the System Test. Internet fine.
Did the Restore Network Default. Still get the same results.
Would help the user if there was a Diagnostic Code List somewhere online at DirecTV.

That's true. These low numbers may only be associated with CE work. But still, someone at DirecTV must know what it means. So far, I can't find that person.

sorry did not see that part, well if that diagnostic code is giving him a lot of problems he could do a "scan and repair of the HDD" it is similar to a reformat of a normal dvr, procedure is simple, : first you have to be in front of the receiver and locate the "REC" and the "DOWN ARROW" in the front dashboard, also the red reset button behind the door, next to the accescard, and then we start
1. reset receiver with "RED RESET BUTTON"
2. you will see the first screen "HELLO YOU'R DIRECTV RECEIVER IS STARTING UP "
3. after that one you have "ALMOST THERE A FEW MORE SECONDS"
4. immediately when you see the second screen you press and hold both buttons( REC, DOWN ARROW)
5. when you have both buttons pressed you will see a few other screens pop up, but you will release the buttons when you see on the screen "SCANNING HDD" you will also see a % that will tell you the process,
This process will take around 2 hours, and if it finishes before the hour it is that receiver has issues with the HDD and should provide you with an error code, if it does you should contact technical support for them to replace receiver immediately.
and if after the scanning and repairing your receiver boots up as normal then you should not have any problems no more with that error code.
FYI: most of the time you do the "scan and repair" all your recordings will be deleted and can not be reestablished..

I'm pretty sure that error code has nothing to do with the DVR's hard drive.

well in this case there is not much to do, if it is a unknown issue. if he calls to technical support we will advise those same steps and if issue is not resolved by that we make an escalation to the NET. witch will take a few days to reply to it and they basically only send a few new software updates,

I was under the impression that CE'ers were not supposed to call DTV with this kind of issues.
