Dish Alingment when WHDVR installed?

Will the tech automatically do a Dish Alignment as part of the WHDVR install?

The reason I ask is because I had noticed a lot of 771's  even in light rain.  I decided to run the Sytem test and Ithe results show a "Satellite Dish Alignment Problem." Do I need to call and specificaly request this?

BTW the tech was here yesterday do do the WHDVR install, but said he didn't have the correct receivers for the one's that needed to be upgraded.  The DTV CSR I spoke with to reschedule said that ther was a shortage due to the popularity of the upgrade.

If you currently have a SWM dish, a realignment wouldn't be part of the install.  If you have a conventional dish it would be because they'll change the LNB module.  You can ask the installer, if reluctant possibly a small tip?

Thanks dcd. Here's what is on the order.  System Info shows I have a Slimline-5 Dish.  Is that not the same as the one on the order?

since you are getting new receivers the installer will be forced to realign your dish because the new receivers have a function that if the receivers dont "see' the "right" signal they just wont activate.  so just sit back and relax that DTV took care of this problem by putting this feature on all receivers.

You're welcome.  The system that peds48 refers to is in the receiver software that forces an installer to achieve a minimum signal (a very high number) before he can complete the installation.

That software is removed from boxes furnished retail.
