AFAIK Alaska and Hawaii use a bigger dish and since the movers deal requires only taking the receivers to the new home then it should apply and AFAIK DTV sends the same national channels to all customers with only the locals and RSNs change.

The Movers deal applies to all 50 states. Alaska however may deal with getting a callback within 72 hours to schedule the install. Also, the concern is agents used to get a warning in their system that HD might not be available because of how the signal reaches. With the ongoing MPEG-2/SD-only shutdown that may make it a bit more difficult for DirecTV in that area going forward.
If a DirecTV agent referred you to Dish for the move, that is someone planning to lose their job. At most all they might have been allowed to mention in conversation as that would be the other satellite TV provider if your new home turns out to be outside the MPEG-4 reach for DirecTV.
As for programming, only locals and RSNs and the individual teams' markets, are affected by where you live.
