HD Receiver keeps freezing up

 My receiver was working fine this morning, kids were watching the flintstones on Boomerang. I changed the  channel over to my nfl sunday ticket channels to watch pregame, and after a few seconds my receiver completely froze up. This is only happening to my main HD receiver. I can go to my bedroom and everything works fine. I've tried restarting the receiver and resetting the access card by removing the card and pressing the reset button. It makes the receiver come back on, but then it freezes up seconds later.

 

 Hmm new development while writing this, did the access card rest thing again and was typing this while restarting. My kid changed it to nick when it came back on, and no problems. If i turn it back on the nfl sunday ticket channels, it will freeze up again. How do i take care of this? Is this happening to everybody?

I am paying $350 dollars for this service and i can't even watch any games! service is not even free like they said

that is a "workaround", and it does work, thank you, but to have to do it repeatedly is total BS

Reboot receiver, switch an an NFL Sunday Ticket channel, then wail on the Exit button for a while to keep the Score Tracker from coming up.  It looks like it's a problem with the Score Tracker code.  When you switch to a new Sunday Ticket channel, wail on Exit again.

Yes, it's a work around.  DirecTV is certainly working on a true fix.  But in the mean time, use the workaround.

Did you really think direct tv would give this free.. they lie.. been a customer since it was prime star... been lied to many times,, and the answer is always a free three mos of movies... ive had enough of this

Same problem in Wisconsin.  They better be ready with some refunds.  If I would have stuck my head out the window when it went down I bet I could have heard the screaming.  For what they charge this is a travesty.

We're having the same problem in New Mexico. Only happening on the NFL ticket channels..reset it several times!  However, it is working fine on the tv in the bedroom...go figure!  All I know is that it better be working by the time the Cowboys play this evening or I'm gonna have a very upset husband!  Worse if it's not working for Monday night footbal!  GO BRONCOS!

Same in Chicago! Ruined our Sunday viewing of Bears. Big TV is frozen. Extremely disappointed. Couldn't get human on phone to correct.

Will change companies when contract is up! Just trying free ticket of NFL promotion. What a bust!
