How do I connect the Hr24-500?

I am completely new to this, I don't know where to plug and connect everything. What goes to my TV? What's the Direct TV cinema connection kit, and how do I connect that too??

Is this a warranty replacement swap, or is there a different reason a tech is not doing the install?

What are the models of your other boxes (if you have any)?

The Cinema Connection Kit (CCK) is for connecting the DirecTV setup to your home internet for the optional On Demand. Depends on your exact setup if it is actually needed or not.

Normally coax to HR24 and HDMI to TV. But depends on if you have the old multiswitch or newer SWM on full install details.

Thank you. I figured out how to connect the the Hr24-500 Box (I needed an HDMI cable), but I don't know how to connect the Cinema Connection Kit (DCAW1RO-01).

I just moved into an apartment and the owner said to hook-up the boxes and I'll have Directv since it's free with my apartment. I asked for help, but he's afraid of COVID-19, and new people (me)..... So here I am seeking help.

DirecTV wouldn't be free, but some places add the cost into the rent. But those places have a system operator to hook up everything, not expect you to do it upon moving in. But Covid-19 has caused some people to panic instead of just taking the correct precautions.

Hopefully this is not a situation where the apartment owner has DirecTV and is hooking up an extra box of his account in your place which is a violation of the Terms of Service and Federal regulations (account sharing).

Do NOT connect DirecTV to a metered/data capped internet or you risk going through your data allowance quickly.

CCK connects to the HR24 by Ethernet.

Plug into power.

Wait for CCK power light to stop flashing and Activity light to be on.

Go into Menu and Connect Now choosing wireless.

Put in your router's password when prompted.

Most likely you have an MDU setup so there is a MDU company that services it if so you need them to add their equipment.  If there is none then you should get a band stop filter to keep your HR24 from being used by all the other tenants.  You can run an Ethernet cable from the router.
