how to connect cinema kit and whole home to HR24 receiver

The wireless CCK if you have a SWM system is connected in line with coax. If not then it connects to the Ethernet port on the HR24 you only need one Ethernet port.  Whole Home uses the coax.

Receivers should only have on internet port. Models HR44 and earlier had a phone phone port as well for the outdated Caller ID on TV feature.

What was the model of your previous one?

Previous model is HR20...

The picture I saw shows only one Ethernet port on the HR20.  Connecting an Ethernet cable to the HR24 disables the DECA circuits used for Whole Home.

HR20 like other HDDVRs only had one Ethernet port. DirecTV has never had use of a box with 2 Ethernet ports. The only other ports have been USB (small powered devices like cooling fan or integration with old AM21 or LCC in testing), eSATA port for external HDD (except HR54R1 that is a revised model), and the old phone line jack to connect to landlines (software removed in HR44 and later models had no phone jack to begin with).

So either you are confusing one of the other ports, or the receiver you refer to wasn't DirecTV.

Actually the old Receiver is a HR21 and it does have two Ethernet ports. One was used for the Cinema Kit and the other for a Connected Home Adapter. On the new HR24 I have the Cinema Kit connected to the one available Ethernet port. Unable to get whole home system to work.

Like I said using an Ethernet cable on the HR24 disables Whole Home to the HR24. IIRC Whole Home requires a SWM system so the WCCK is wired using coax in line with the HR24 or any other receiver.

OK, thanks....can the HR24 connect to the internet via the Cinema Kit Using a coax connections?

Yes that is what the WCCK does and it will provide the internet to all DTV receivers so if there are other receivers connected to the internet you will have to remove the internet connections.

Well now I feel silly. I just went back through and the HR20, HR24, and Genies were the single Ethernet port. I apparently was mixing up Ethernet 2 with the phone jack port.
