Is there a way to set reminders?

I just switched from Time Warner Cable to DTV. One feature that I am missing is the option to set a reminder for a show I want to see later on. When the show starts a reminder window pops up and I can switch to that channel. When I searched for this feature in DTV I couldn't find it. It would certainly be helpful. That way I don't have to remember what channel the show is on.

Is there such option in DTV?

Thanks.

Ive had directv back when the only way to get it was via cable. Perhaps a different name then. Buy outs happen , changes are made then the company says certain features never existed and special hardware is required. That' (Edited per community guidelines). Used to be able to set reminders. I could watch an unimportant program to take up time until the show I want to watch, starts. When it started I was flagged, no matter what  channel i was viewing. I could select to watch it, record it, or skip it. Nice feature. Yeah, I know about record, replay, Other showings, etc. daaa! No matter what others say  It is (was) a nice feature and they are dusche bags. Don't know why it was removed.  Also... Why in the heck can't channels in the guide be sorted by nomenclature as an option. Really, sorting is that difficult to program. Geeze, that's basic programming in grade school. I have over 1000 channels to look at (950 are stupid) but sometimes I like to watch stupid TV. I'm suppose to memorize 1000 channel numbers by nomenclature? I think we have 1st year college graduates  doing the thinking and programing for Directv. Maybe they are still using ALGOL as a programming language.
