MRV - 30 minute extensions

Have the MRV Deca install and works great.  One issue I just noticed is if I record a program (say a sports game) and opt for a 30 minute recording extension, when I try to watch the recorded program on a different receiver than the one it was recorded on, it only shows the original recording portion and not the 30 minute extension.  For example, on HD DVR#1 I recorded the Duke lacrosse game and included a 30 minute extenstion in case the game ran long.  When I went to watch the game on HD DVR#2, I could only see the first 2 hours (i.e., the original amount of time without the extension).  Anybody know how to fix.

This is a new one on me.  I haven't seen or experienced it.  I just put the Yankees game to record with the extension.  I'll see if this occurs on my system or not and post back later today (Sunday).  That way we'll know if it is in your system or a bug.

I tried it with the simple case of a recording a 30 minute program with a 30 minute extension and I was able to watch the entire hour on the remote receiver (a DVR in my case). However, it could have something to do with the fact the the program did not actually over run its time slot, the channel or perhaps some difference in the guide data between a regular scheduled program and a sporting event.

My trial of the Yankees game revealed the following.  On the host DVR when you press the play button, the bar shows the basic 3 hours plus a disjointed segment of 30 minutes with a stop time of 3:30.  On a satellite DVR, the same progress bar is solid showing the basic time of 3 1/2 hours and a stop time of 3:30.  Thus I conclude that no bug exists and whatever happened to raomr was an anomaly.

Note that I am running a Cat 5 network without DECA but I seriously doubt that would make any difference.

Not for me - I recorded the lacross game - 2 hours plusa 30 minute extension.  The host DVR only showed the 2 hour recording segment and not the extra 30 minutes.  I wonder though if it matters that I was watching the recording while the game was still in progress, i.e., the Home DVR was recording the game and I was watching the beginning of the game on the Host DVR - when I finally caught up to the 2 hour point, I could not view any further on the Host.  Do you actually have to wait for the extension portion to be completed before it is viewable?

I'm not sure what caused your problem.  Just so we're sure to understand each other let's use "host" to indicate the DVR that is making the recording and "satellite" for the receiver playing it back.  You might do a red button (inside card door) reset of the two boxes and give it another go.  As to when all ot this shows up, when you press "play" on a recording program the progress bar always shows the end time of the recording.  That should hold true in the satellite receiver as well.  It shouldn't matter if the program is complete or not.

Ok. The Host DVR shows the whole recording time - the satellite one only shows the originally scheduled time and not the extension.

Good, that's the way I understood your original post.  Like I say, do a red button reset and try some ball game etc to see if your experience mirrors mine.
