no hd channels

Had a standard def tv and box in game room. I put a new plasma with an h20 box with a b band converter I had saved that was in another room but was replaced with an hd dvr.

Hooked it up in the game room and all works but the hd channels say searching for sat 771.

Made sure it was activated and reset also tried to turn off and hit reset button.

Please any help would be great DTV CAN NOT MAKE IT TO ME FOR 10 DAYS.

On the HD DVR that is working, press the dash (-) button and see if the resulting message refers to a "SWM"? If so, take the B Band adapter off the H20 and do a red button reset.  Then check the satellite setup details under setup menu on the working DVR then make sure the H20 duplicates the settings exactly.

No, you need the B Band converter.  If you want, we can look at your signal strengths.  You may have a badly aligned dish and if so you'll need to wait for the service tech.

You'll find these readings under "Menu" -> "Setup" -> "System Setup" -> Satellite -> "View Signal Strength".  Note the "+" and "-" symbols next to the "Satellite" and "Tuner" entries where you can toggle the readings between the various satellites and both DVR tuners.  If you have a DVR it's important to check BOTH satellite tuners.

Fill in your readings for each satellite and tuner on the new post you create, using the example below as a guide. (The example below is only an example and not a form that will appear in your post unless you "cut" and "paste" it.) A properly aligned dish will show 80-90s on most of the relevant transponders (although some will be low or zero):

The signals you posted are of little help.  Re read my request for signals and see the instructions for changing satellites.  It occurs to me that you do not have the DVR set for the correct dish type in the satellite setup menu.  You can press and hold the info button on the working receivers remote, then select more system info.  Scroll down and note the dish and multiswitch settings.  Than on the non working DVR, repeat satellite setup in the setup menu and when you get to dish type be sure it's set the same as the working receiver.

Did you try switching the B Band convertor from the working receiver?

If you log in to your account online several times a day you can view your service appointment.  There is also a spot to locate recent cancellations that might be earlier.  These don't last long so if you check frequently you might find an earlier time slot.
