NO LINE OF SITE-WOULD LIKE YOUR OPINIONS!

I just had a site visit yesterday to have my directv installed at my house, but was told that there was no clear line of site to the satellites because of trees being in the way. I REALLY REALLY want it to work to get the NFL package if any one of you are able to look at my location on the dishpointer site and tell me what u think that would be great!

To use dishpointer.com you need to input your actual address and then it will show your house and the line of sight you need to the various satellites. No-one else can do this for you!

well i was wondering if you could use my address and tell me what you think, cause it doesn't mean much to me by looking at it. I could pm you my address if you wouldn't mind so you could look at it yourself?

Post your address and zip code or do a house a block or two straight north or south of U and I will try to help you.  I am in 91006 zip and about any address within a four block radius gives me the same readings.

Yes,  your elevation is 31.7, your azimuth 217.9 would make your dish point southwest roughly from your house and the tilt is 63.8.

If you go to dishpointer.com and enter your street address you will be able to pinpoint where you want the sat dish on your house and see all of this.  Really easy,  even for an antique like me.

From looking on Dishpointer,  your house appears to sit on what I would call the southwest corner with a lot of bushes or trees and I can only see a tiny bit of house corner,  so I tried sticking the sat on that corner.  You would probably mount the dish on the facia board of the house, not the actual roof.  Looks like it would have a clear view there.

Can't they mount the dish on the side of your house, or a pole in the ground?

Although it'll be a little late for you for the NFL, here's something that might help you.

http://gjullien.fr/satellite.htm

I had to study it quite a while to figure it out the first time I used it.

By using the sun on a certain date and time you'll be able to see if you have Line Of Sight. At that time the sun will be located approximately at the same spot in the sky as the satellite.

I entered the Latitude and Longitude for Barre and Satellite 101, and on Tuesday, October 11th, at 2:43 PM, the sun will be very close to the location of the 101 satellite.

If you can see the sun at any spot in your back yard at that time, you'll be OK.
The other two satellites will be 99 and 103 which are very close to 101. If your SD locals are on 119 you'll need to see that one too. Around 4:02 PM is when the sun will be located where 119 is.

You can start checking a few days before October 11 to see if it might work.

Edit: For some reason the wrong link is coming up when i check it.

Try this. Google: Sun Satellite Directv Position. Hopefully you see a link titled "Position Satellite Dish Using Sun or Moon". Try that.

They did at my house in Arcadia, Ca. 91006.  I have an 8" facia board going around my house fastened to the 3X6 roofing studs which by code are on 16" centers and I made sure that two of mounting bolts went into a stud to make it sturdy and the braces go into 2X6 facia board for strong bracing.
