Program not recording in HD

Hello!

On Thursdays, I tape 3 shows in a row at night on NBC.  They are all on an HD channel.  The final show of the three (The Office) is being recorded in SD and I don't know why.  On the recording of the 2nd show, at the very end of the recording the third show is taping in HD, so I know it's being broadcast in HD, but when I go and watch the third show's recording, even the opening scene that I just saw in HD is now only recorded in SD.

Should I cancel the series recording setting and just re-start it?

Thanks for your help!

My guess is that when you set up the series link for the third show you accidentally set the SD channel.  So yes, just cancel the series link and then set it up again making sure you select the HD channel...

Wouldn't it be a different channel?  All three programs for Thursday night show they are recording off of channel 10.

I'll try canceling the link to see what happens.

Thanks for the help!

You get both the SD and HD versions of the channel and they both show as channel 10. If you set to "hide SD duplicates" the SD ones disappear from the guide, but if you set up the series link by searching for the show by name they will still show up in the search list.

Not sure if this is appropriate for "The Office" but not all programs broadcast on the NBC (or many others) HD feed are in fact HD programming (although it is carried on the HD signal).  If you want an example, the "Chris Mathews Show" at 10 am Sundays on NBC is SD format and appearance on the HD NBC feed.

The OP said he watched the start of the show and it was in HD, but the recording wasn't...

Yeah, texasbrit- it did record in HD on the tail end of the previous recording, so I know that it was broadcasted as such.

I will try re-setting the recording to see what happens.

Thanks for your help!
