Replace a bad unit myself?

My HR24/100 is freezing for 10 - 15 seconds every 5 minutes or so. I de-fragged (it took 17 hours), but it's still freezing. With the virus going around, I don't like the idea of a technician coming in to basically unhook the old one and connect the new one. What's the policy on a "self replace"?

They don't send a tech to replace a box. a tech is only sent if the issue is beyond the box (cabling, dish, etc.).

Delivery is $19.95, covered if you have the optional equipment protection plan. Just got to call.

DTV uses Linux so there is no defragging needed so don't know what you did.

You ran the BIST( Built In System Test) but it doesn't defrag the hard drive as the poster stated.
