you just need to take it to UPS they will handle it from there, make sure you get and keep the tracking number

So I mailed it to your billing department
I told Josh when I called if you do not want to give me the address that is where I was sending it
And that is where I sent it
Now I have been trying to send it back
I have made 7 calls 8 counting today's call
I am tired of messing with Direct Tv
I gave you all every opportunity to send me a box and return label every since I canceled my service and had your company to disconnect our Direct tv service
Now you deal with it

Billing does not accept equipment returns, so this risks getting a non-return fee as you sent it to an address of your choosing.
Returnable boxes get taken to a participating FedEx or UPS store (not USPS) for your free return. Account should be closed first or they may not accept return. Since the agent at UPS said they could not do anything without a label, unless that agent is not familiar with the program, that suggests you went to a location that does not participate in the return program and was following the normal process for shipping anything.

We’re all customers here. Your rant is falling on the ears of customers this isn’t directv and you are not speaking to directv AND they won’t see your post.

@Lillymad
It is not "our" return address or company. This is a public customer to customer forum. This is NOT DirecTV (or AT&T) customer care. (those that post once in a while with the "employee" tag are posting on their personal time/off the clock and not as official representatives)
If UPS employee said a label was needed, then either that location does not participate in the return program or the employee is not well-informed about it.
DirecTV does NOT provide you an address to arrange your own personal shipping because they have a return program setup with select shippers. This is the same for all the millions of DirecTV customers.
The correct process is taking returnable models with their access cards still inside to a PARTICIPATING FedEx or UPS store (not USPS) for your free return. Verify it is a main store as not all locations participate in the program.
By sending it to an address that you selected, you now risk the very good chance of being charged a non-return fee (NRF) which DirecTV would not expect to reverse as this was not the return process.
