Successful Multi-Home Installation
After reading the forum, It took me a couple of phone calls to get this order correctly. I ended up talking to a Supervisor in order to have a successful installation. The wait line for installation was about a month when I scheduled it but they put me on a list if anything became available prior they would call me. 2 days later, I got a call phone a tech and the installation was complete today.
2 new receivers - HR24-500 (family Room) and H24-100 (Bed Room)
The tech came with a Deca installation and I was able to talk to him in order to just install withou it.
Here's the trick, IF you have an older receiver like HR20 or below, YOU NEED Deca and additional adapters in the back of each receivers.
They replaced the dish to a slim and a new 8 port switcher.
I didn't want my other DVRs in the network.
HR20-700 or HR20-100 with RJ45 connector but I don't think they are able to use them anymore unless you install Deca
R16-300 (a non-networkable unit)
I was the first installation for these tech that came and they were nice and easy to work with.

Did they attach your coax to your router as shown on page 4 of the attached link?

dcd,
I tried to post a "heads up" early on for DECA-adopters to make sure they said something to the installer about connecting to the router and testing the Internet connection before they left. It seems that installers are so backed up on installs that if the customer doesn't specifically ask for it(even though the installer clearly would see "evidence" of previous router/LAN/Internet connectivity if indeed the customer had previously used On Demand, Media Share or DirecTV2PC) the installer just installs the DECA cloud and moves on(or inappropriately connects/leaves current connection from a DVR's ethernet directly to the router). Personally, if I were an installer, I would "ask the customer" because if I didn't have time to do it right the first time I definitely didn't have time for a return visit:0)

There is some confusion as to whether a connection to the router is an automatic part of a DECA installation or a separate item (at added cost) on the work order. One of the guys put our a request for clarification but we haven't head back yet. One thing is for positive, you cannot connect a Cat5 cable to an open Ethernet port in a DECA system or the MRV will fail.

No, they didn't install the adaptor in Page 4.
Both units (HR24-500 and H20-100) are directly connected to my D-link Router.
I will test to see if I can connect an HR20-700 directly to the D-link as well. I don't need to have it networked since it's in the same room. Just to see what happens

Beware, you cannot use DECA and connect Cat5 cable to an open port on a receiver at the same time, it will give you trouble. The setup on page 4 is the ONLY approved connection method. I'd suggest you print out the manual and get the installer back to complete the job. Not sure why you wouldn't want all of the DVR's and receivers connected to DECA, after all they are already connected to the coax. I'm quite sure if the two HR20's don't have a DECA module, then they must have a Band Stop Filter in the coax connected to each sat in port. From your brief description I think you got a sub standard installation and you need to carefully review what you have. DECA is very exacting and you cannot pick and choose the various connections. If you want to post back a complete list of your receiver/DVR models someone will be glad to list the components you should have.

You'd do yourself a service if you began a new post with all the details of what you're trying to do. This thread deals with a DECA system. If you don't have DECA then the answer is totally different.

Now I think about it and read more. I think I should have let the installer complete the DECA installation for all the receiver. I can disable any DVRs that I don't want to share the content of the other DVRs.
These are my units:
Home networked: HR24-500 and H24-100. I got rid of H10-250 and a non DVR H20.
Not networked and using 1 Sat connection:
R16-300 - no ethernet available
HR20-700 & HR20-100 - connecting ethernet port to D-link, it doesn't see any other device but it's connected to the internet and I get on-Demand. under multi-room, I get a message that I need to call to activate.
I got all done for free but with a 2-year contract. Now, I think it will be hard for me to squeeze and complaint to have the rest of the units connected to the cloud.
There are many benefits on using Directv DECA since it doesn't use the traffic of your home network (D-Link or Linksys). It's a bit messy with all of those connectors but once is installed it works fine.
I just wanted to share my experience.
I'll think about it tonight if I want to complain t and get the tech back but I still wonder if I should be able to connect the other 2 DVRs (HR20s) to my network.
Just...happy that I got it for Free

herreraj,
If I was you I would call Directv to activate your system and have another installer return to connect these receivers, then place a Band Stop Filter on the HR16-300 and connect the router to a DECA and Power Inserter or Power Supply(PS18DER0). See links below:

I told you earlier that you are asking a multiple answer question. Any HD box can be connected to the Internet by connecting a Cat5 cable to the Ethernet port and to the router. It's really impossible to answer one sentence technical questions.

I have an hr 20 100 and a h 24 receiver. I currently have deca installed on the hr 20 100 since it is already built in on the h24. I want to hook the hr 20 up to the internet. I use to have it connected a to a bridge but I cant do that now because the deca ethernet is plugged into the hr 20's top ethernet port. So do I have to order another deca and a deca power supply, which is a yes, but also how do I install it?

In addition to Madmack's info re the network connection, you may not be aware that the HR20-100 requires a special installation. Scroll down to post #6 on the link that Madmack already provided for a diagram of the HR20-100 install.

I have it set up like that. It seems to me that the H24 can talk to the HR20 but if something is recorded on the HR 20 I cant see it on the H24 until I reset. I was able to start a recording on the HR20 fromt he H24. I am not connected to the internet.
