Switching receivers

I would like to move my genie 4K mini box to the living room where I have a 4k TV. I tried once. it didn't work. What do I need to do outside. ?

Do I need to move the two coax cables attached to the SWM splitter?

DirecTV doesn't install a 4K Client unless you already have a 4K TV. So unless someone messed up, you don't have a 4K setup.

What model is the "4K" Mini Genie Client?

Model of main Genie?

Did you used to have a 4K TV with where the Client was?

Do you know if the tech installed a Reverse LNB on your receiving dish?

The 4k mini Genie is C61K-700

The model of the main box is HR54-500

I think the 4kHD TV there now was there when the service was installed.

I can see a splitter with the initials SWM outside, but do not know about the LNB

Thanks

Any coax that is connected to the SWM splitter can be used for any Genie or mini provided that whatever coax connected to the HR54 has to be connected to the red power pass through port on the SWM splitter.

Ok that would be a 4K setup then as you have HR54 and C61K. That 4K TV would have been there when it was installed, otherwise you don't get the C61K (as that is the only 4K model).

Make sure the new 4K TV supports HDMI 2.0, HDCP 2.2, and 60 FPS as those are DirecTV's requirements for their 4K compatibility. Also check that you plug into the correct HDMI port, as 4K TVs tend not to have every single port to the 4K specs.

Menu>Settings & Help>Settings>Info & Test>More System Info.  The RBLNB is only needed to receive the new 4K channels if and when there are any.
