There's a problem communicating with the satellite dish (775) code HR44 Genie

I purchased a new Web os tv and swapped the input cables from the old tv to the new tv. Now I get the error "There's a problem communicating with the satellite dish (775)". I've runs tests and it says it can't connect to SWM. I've changed HDMI cables, unplugged the SWM for 2 minutes, and nothing changes. I can't get a satellite signal.

I plug everything back into the old tv and everything works fine! The older TV is just a regular 16x9 flat screen, and about 12 years old. The new tv is an LG UHD webOS Model 65UN69 TV, that supports 4k. The Directv cable box is HR44 Genie with 2 minis.

Would anyone know why the box works fine on the older tv, and not the new tv? Would I need a new SWM, because it can't support this new tv?

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks,

Steve

You said the new tv is a web os. What Brand? What exactly do you mean by "web os" I'm just clarifying information because I think the web os is the issue now even though this message shouldn't have anything to do the tv

I'm not making anything up! Like I said, I've checked the receiver with the old tv and it works! I haven't done the RGB cables yet. That was my last resort, because I'd rather use the HDMI cable

I just now unplugged the HDMI cable only (nothing else) from the non-working new tv, and straight into the old tv, without turning anything off. The HR44 did a rebuilding process and I have all channels working flawlessly.

What do you mean by "rebuilding process"? Be sure to leave the HR44's power cord plugged in when you swap the TVs so that it doesn't need to reboot. Swap only the TVs and HDMI cable.

I would try using a extension cord to a different outlet and see if that makes any difference. Are TVs 2 or 3 prong electrical cords?

Another thought ....

Can you have both TVs powered on at the same time and simply swap the HR44's HDMI cable from the "good" TV to the "bad" TV?  What happens?

When I take the HDMI cable out of the working old tv, and plug it into the new tv (turning nothing off), I get the Satellite Connection issue. When I take it out and put it back into the old tv, without turning anything off, my old works fine.

I'll have to look for my RGB cables and try one last time with those. Otherwise, from what y'all are telling me, it would have to be a bad circuit in the new tv

Ok, so I shut everything down, unplugged the SWM and HR44 box. I took out all HDMI cables, and went to get the RGB cables. Plugged the RGBs in both the HR44 and the new tv. Plugged the power to the HR44 in along with plugging the SWM back in.

After all that, I got the exact same results! Problem communicating with the satellite!

So if neither RBG components or HDMI work on the new TV, it's gotta be the new TV that has the issue. There are no other ways to connect to make it work. The older tv will have to do for now, while I return the new tv back to the store. What a pain it's been!

I never have seen an answer to my question on the TV power cords. Are they both two prong or three prong? You might pick up an electrical receptacle tester to just check to make sure your outlets are wired properly.

I think @Good4u might be on to something. I, too, would be curious what happens if you use a different electrical outlet. How old is your home/apartment?

I apologize, I never saw your question at that time. I was frantically trying everything out that was suggested, and trying to talk with a Directv dude. My bad.

So to now answer your question...the older tv is 3 prong, and the newer tv 2 prong.

Also, they are plugged into a heavy duty surge protector. I tried directly to the wall outlet, but got the same results from both tvs
