Waiting to Download
I have read the post, Waiting to Download. I have had the downloads in the que for several hours. I checked to see if they are VOD and they are not. Are there any other reasons the shows will not download. I have reset the Nomad, uninstalled the app and reinstalled and restarted my computer. I drive truck and was so excited to find this device, but so far I have not had any luck.

I had several programs in the que. The download status bar moved to about the 1/4 then stops. I let it sit over night and the status bar never moved. I cleared the que and started only one program. Still did not download. Does this thing work for any one?
I should also say that I have DSL at 25Mbps.

I'd guess that you have the Nomad software on a laptop. If true, try temporarily connecting the laptop to your router with an Ethernet cable as a test. Be sure to disable the wireless.

Ok. I tried connecting the router to the computer via Ethernet cable. Still no download. Now what?

I had gone into my settings and allowed the Nomad through the firewall. That did not work. I read a post by kfirst's, it explains that you have to turn off the firewall then power down. Then restart the Nomad app. I did that and now every thing works great.

None of the suggestions mentioned above have resolved this issue for me, nor have 3 calls to tech support. Works fine on my iPad (using the iPhone app), so it would seem likely that it would be a firewall issue on my PC. But I've added rules to my firewall and still no luck. Even disabling my firewall completely (and rebooting as was suggested above) have not resolved the issue. This is nuts!

I don't use Avast, but yes, I tried disabling my antivirus software as well. Although frankly, I'm sick of companies asking that you disable all security tools to be able to use their products.

Not that it should matter, but I've tried both. If the problem was the network connection, I wouldn't be able to see what's on my Nomad, right? But I can. I am able to communicate with the Nomad to prepare programs for download, and it knows the file is on the Nomad, prepared, and ready to download. It just never actually begins the download.

Norton 360 Premier.
If it's a network quality issue, there is still the possibility that could explain what I'm seeing, since the Nomad is on a bridged segment. I don't have enough wired ports on my current router to connect the Nomad, so it's in another room (on the same segment as my DVR). I was going to order an 8-port Gigabit switch this week anyway. Once it comes in, I'll move the Nomad and my laptop directly onto that switch and test again. Of course, then the Nomad will be on a different segment from my DVR. Will I then have shifted the problem from the Download stage to the Preparation stage?

An Ethernet switch does not create it's own "segment" on a normal network, it simply creates additional connections to the router. I have switches in for different locations with numerous devices attached to each and they all "see" each other as though on a single network.
