What to do with the satellite dish
I have a Direct TV satellite dish that I no longer need. I'm assuming I own it and am seeking advice from DirecTV about its recycling program. If you do not have a recycling program, please refer me to the nearest recycling program. I'm in Reston, VA

You own the dish, the dish is metal so can go to any place that recycles metal the LNB needs to go to an e waste center.

Only the receiver/client boxes are owned by DirecTV. So the dish is yours.
Make sure to leave the mounting plate to avoid leaks. The dish itself goes with metal, but the LNB (the "eye") goes with electronic recycling.
DirecTV's recycling program is only for the boxes themselves if old enough models. An existing dish makes it more likely for a customer to return, or a new homeowner to order new or move exiting service.
