Whole Home DVR Without Internet - HR24-100, H24-100, and H24-700

Good afternoon, my friend just had a quick question that I didn't have the answer to so I decided to post here. My friend has an HR24-100, an H24-100, and an H24-700. He would like to be able to view his recordings from his HR24-100 on his other two H24 HD receivers without an internet connection or ethernet cable required. Any ideas? His current setup is a SWM SL3 satellite dish, a 1x2 splitter (the power side goes to his HR24-100 with the power inserter and the other output goes to another 1x2 splitter which then has his H24-100 and a power inserter and the non-power side goes to his H24-700)

There are currently no ethernet cables accessible and he IS AUTHORIZED for Whole Home DVR.

Whole Home doesn't need internet to work. Not sure why he has two power inserters.  If he is paying the $3 a month fee for Whole Home then try resetting all of them.

Ok I forgot to say, he only has one power inserter. And I thought that the HR24-100 needed to be connected to a Cinema Connection Kit in order to work?

Forgot to mention too, his HR24-100 is on his RV account while the H24s are on his normal house account. Don’t know if that makes a difference but lemme know. Also both his RV and home account have Whole Home DVR authorized.

That is the problem they all have to be on the same account.  Whole Home uses the coax to stream to the receivers and the Cinema Connection kit only adds internet.

My friend ended up hard-wiring them with Ethernet and voila it worked!

No, it does not. My HR-24 is connected directly to my router. Both whole home and on demand work fine. Now I do remember in order to get whole home turned on, I had to acknowledge I had an unsupported configuration but I don’t remember if that was because I don’t have the cinema connection kit or because I don’t have SWM.

DirecTV is service by satellite. So internet is not required at all. Internet is used for optional On Demand service.

Whole Home DVR requires at minimum one HDDVR (HR20 thru HR24, and special R22) and HD non-DVR (H21 thru H25). Must be on a SWM setup, not the older multiswitch.

If you do a Genie upgrade, do NOT replace any HDDVRs as they still work with it.

The Cinema Connection Kit (CCK) is to connect to the internet router wirelessly. It only supports a 2.4Ghz connection. If he later does a Genie upgrade, since the 2nd generation Genie (HR44) the CCK is built in and supports both 2.4 and 5Ghz. In that case he would need to remove the external CCK to avoid conflicts.

Whole Home DVR is for sharing recordings for ONE account, not multiple. If the HR24 is on the same account, just in the RV for traveling, it cannot share Whole Home as it must be physically connected to the same cabling network as the other boxes. There is no remote option for Whole Home.

Connecting an HR24 via Ethernet disconnects the built in DECA circuits so don't know how Whole Home is working unless they are all connected via Ethernet.
