C41W-500 wireless mini blinking red light; only 1 out of 3 has this problem

I have 3 of these C41W-500 mini wireless receivers and only one has a problem. Had these for many years without a problem. All of a sudden one of them is now not connecting to the wireless video bridge. It only has a red blinking light. The other 2 work fine.

I have already pressed the red reset button and unplugged the unit and those didn't solve the problem. I tried this problem unit in a different room and tv and still got the red blinking light. I think this unit is defective and will likely get a replacement but wanted to see if anyone else had a similar issue that didn't require a replacement.

Have you also reset the Genie and the WVB?

Yes, I reset the genie and wvb. I was looking for confirmation that my genie mini was defective or that there was some way to get the red blinking light to turn into the green solid light. Just wanted some more information before I went through with getting a replacement genie mini.

What is on the screen? One thing you can try is hold the reset button in on the C41 W for a solid minute. After that it should come up saying "inactive" on the screen. Once that comes up you can try to "re-pin" it. Go into the menu on the main Genie and go to Settings, Whole home, Manage clients, Add clients. A 4 digit pin will come up. Go to wireless client and you should be able to enter pin number and then follow prompts to get it going. If this doesn't work it is probably bad.

What model is the main Genie?

The main Genie is HR44-500.  I pushed in the reset button for a minute but couldn't get "inactive" on the screen. After the "Hello" screen, then "This will take a minute" screen, then "Running Receiver Self-Check" screen, it finally gets stuck on "DIRECTV Connecting..."

The equipment are all over 7 years old.  Maybe time to get new equipment.

Unplug power from the HR44 for a couple minutes. Make sure coax is finger tight before you plug it back in. That should clear anything that got stuck in memory from reset hold suggestion. Be aware that unlike a simple push of the red button reset, this full power cycle normally dumps the guide data as well. Should be loaded again fully within 24-48hrs.

From what you've described, it is just a single Client that is the problem. The HR44 only was an issue with trying a forced option. If the C41W is still having issues in a couple days after the HR44 is verified fully loaded, call DirecTV for a warranty replacement. That is just $19.95 delivery. Depending on stock you'll get either C41W or possibly C61W, as those are the only wireless models.

If that reset hold cannot be cleared and you must do a warranty replacement of the HR44 as well, then you get either same model or HR54. Doesn't realy matter as the only tangible improvement is supporting the 4K Client (C61K, which naturally is not wireless).

There is no getting "new" equipment as everything is pretty much refurbished these days. Satellite tech does not advance as fast as other things. The new co-owner has not released any info on equipment direction or innovation yet.

It is on the C41 W wireless clients that you have to hold the button in fo 1 minute and "inactive" should come up on the screen. Then you go back to HR 44 to go to add client screen. Then back to wireless client to enter pin number.

Thanks for all the suggestions.  I did try holding the reset button for 1 minute on the wireless mini client but couldn't get the "inactive" screen.
