Satellite not picking up channels, not searching for signal
I'm having issues with my DTV satellite. When I power on the receiver, it just goes to a gray screen and does not say that it is searching for a signal or anything. I'm wondering what could be the problem? The satellite has not been moved, and the coax running to the receiver is untampered with.

When I try to watch a program that I have recorded, all I get is a gray screen with the message asking if I'd like to delete the program. I have reset the dvr, did not help. This happens on HD channels as well as regular channels. Some programs record fine and others do not.

channel 57 on directv does not broadcast MeTV. WCTV 57 carries CBS on its primary channel 6.1 and metv on a subchannel 6.2. In general DirecTV does not carry subchannels.
