698-1 HD channel not available for HD SJ Sharks games

I do not recall the last time an SJ Sharks game was in HD. Even on the online guide it shows tonights game, 1/19 Sharks at Kings on 698-1 in HD. Yet that channel is not available, only SD.Is DirecTV no longer carrying 698-1?

Sounds like you might be a candidate for a non-penetrating mount, which is a steel frame weighted down by cinder blocks.  Its an approved DIRECTV installation method.

What type of coaxial cable should I run in my basement for DirecTV hookup?  I have been told to buy the copper center and NOT steel center with copper lining.  But I cannot find the cable anywhere.... been to Lowe's, Home Depot, Walmart, etc.  Is is really necessary to buy the copper center cable?

I agree.  That's why I was asking about custom installation, or even installing a dish myself (I put the roof on) and I could reinforce the decking from inside (where the rafters are) as the interior of the attic is not yet insulated and sheet-rocked

The service call should have gotten you new rg6 installed (if possible) Your problem is with the rg59 depending on if it is not soild copper or steel core. that is whta is causeing your issue.  If it is possible to run new wiring you need to call D*
