On the Days when the rain came

I keep losing my signal for more than a couple minutes when it rains or storms in all 4 rooms. Last night, it was out for more than 1 hour with a nasty storm. I am a new DTV customer (90 days now). Last five minutes of recorded show the video goes black.

Does an HR24 automatically record the last 30 min of the channel it's on?

I got an HR24 and it's obviously different than a DirecTivo SD-DVR40. The SD-DVR40 would automatically record 30 min. of each tuner (input). So if Tuner 1 was on Channel 206 (ESPN) and Tuner 2 was on Channel 501 (HBO), both channels would have the last 30 min of the show recorded.  I could
