Door to door sales?!?

Not sure where to find the best way to lodge a complaint against this practice so I just wanted to put it here. For the past few days AT&T reps have been going door to door in my neighborhood trying to sell U-verse tv. They came by last night while we were eating dinner and I made it very clear they weren't welcome.

Why is AT&T engaging in this practice? We have had issues with break-ins in my neighborhood and often criminals pretend to be door-to-door sales to scope out who is home and when.

There is NO reason to be going door-to-door, I hope that AT&T discontinues this practice.

AT&T has used D2D sales since day 1 (10+ years?).

If your town/city requires a permit for D2D, ask to see it.  If they don't have one, report them to city hall.  If they are aggressive, call 911.  The easiest solution is to put a "No Soliciting" sign on your front door.

Better solution is do not answer the door if you do not know who is at the door.

I found out the hard way according to ATT these are 3rd party contractors.  I bought Direct TV from one the other day.  He wore ATT shirt and said he was their representative.  Luckily ATT let me cancel after finding out 1/2 of what he said was false.  EX.  premium channels free for a year.  He quoted a price and told me it included internet.  I took the contract he gave me to the store and told me "We don't do that".   How does ATT let these people continue?   Isn't that fraud?  I wonder how many people have been deceived and not found out until it was too late.

The best practice is not to send door to door solicitation!  We are all aware and scared of scams in today’s world.  Why would att add to the fear?’n

I can’t believe be that att and direct engage in such a bad business practice. Especially in this day and age with all the phone scams, and now it seems door to door scams!  People are scared, including myself, and now these third party contractors are trying to sell me cheaper tv prices and att/direct are ok with it? I didn’t answer the door. My elderly husband did and let this man in our house!  I had to step in and ask him to leave.  Deplorable business practice!

I am so disappointed in the fact that I was with AT&T for years and was insulted and approached with profanity by an AT &T door to door representative.  And when trying to contact someone to help me with this individual I had to contact the local police because I was unable to contact an AT & T supervisor.

I don't understand this.  We just ordered AT & T internet and tv services.  A few days later, 2 salespeople come by and offer us a better deal with their own company.  But, we have to cancel our new service we had just purchased.  they said they will be by to install today.  OK, this doesn't make any sense.

Could not navigate your site...I need to lodge my huge disappointment with losing NBC!!!! Actually that was the reason I chose Direct TV and now it is gone  with NO advance notice  to your customers...most won't know until tomorrow because they/you cut it off in the middle of The Late Show! At&t do something please pay them!!

The AT&T D2D salesman came again - usually 2-3 times a year. I pointed to the "No Solicitors" sign on my front window. He just smiled and continued his pitch. I let him know I am calling the police, and he just smiled, said OK, and moved to the next house. There is a "No Solicitors" notice at the entrance to our subdivision. At least he was polite. They are usually smart mouthed kids. I would NEVER buy anything from AT&T.

I don’t think att sends door to door sales people.

Hi. This was comforting, seeing that others were complaining about the AT&T Door to Door sales people. This happened in my neighborhood. The young woman was rude and did not want to leave even though I told her I had "No Trespassing" signs posted. I said I would call the police so they could explain. She and her associate left. I did call the police. I have the same issue that was posted in 2017. This is NOT a Best Practice due to crimes within neighborhoods. We have an active, viable Neighborhood Watch Group and all members were contacted about this incident. If the people are wearing insignia denoting that they somehow represent AT&T then if AT&T is condoning this action, they should be held accountable for people not vetted.

Door-to-door sales people are NOT AT&T employees but are independent contractors that work on commission.  Hence the reason they can be overly aggressive.
