DROPPING U-VERSE FOR POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!

We are on the verge of dropping u verse and finding another Internet service provider. We have had AT&t - south western bell since 1998. Through the earlier years we had phone service only but, then we switched to phone & Internet later in the years. We only have Internet now in which we thought was a very good deal to have. AT&T is constantly making changes to the Internet services that we have and we are fed up with it. When we got Internet it was affordable for us but then the price or amount we would have to pay would go up ever so often. Not only did the bill go up but we noticed things starting to be different with service and now there has been a data cap put on our service when we started off with unlimited Internet. It seems to us that AT&T does not care about the loyal customers that are never late paying their Internet bill and is on time every month and or has had service for a very long time. We can't be angry with AT&T for being a greedy money hungry company because AT&T is just being who they are. We will make sure that we tell friends and family along with neighbors and others that it's time to move on and find another and better company for service. We don't want to bundle or anything like that. We only want internet with no data cap just like we had. If we can't get this situation resolved, we are and will find another service provider. Remember, the customer pays the salary for AT&T employees. Also without customers people that work at AT&T have no job!

If you have internet only you do have a data cap. 

 

To have UNLIMITED data you must bundle TV service (Uverse or DirectTV) with internet.

Don't mess with old people.  The older we get, the less "Life in Prison" is a deterrent.

@NODEALif you get att you can usually also get dslextreme. They have no data cap and do not throttle data and my rate with them is cheaper, customer service has also been wonderful compared to att's.  My att days are coming to an end.

You are not alone the quality of AT&T customer service has become absolutely atrocious over the past decade or so with the past five years being outrageously bad. The phone reps are incompetent, unhelpful, often times add to the original problem you called about, and just as many times the reps are also incredible rude, obnoxious, and belligerent as well.

My customer service experience has mostly been good. Data caps don't bother me.
