GOL TV

On 7/19/2020 a message appeared on Uverse ch. 1656 (GOL TV) saying "You are not subscribed to this channel. To subscribe goto Account Manager on ch. 9910."  But there is no way on ch. 9910 to find GOL TV or do anything, that I can see, except go around in circles.  And why am I suddenly "not subscribed" to GOL TV?  I have been watching that often for six months.  What changed?  Why doesn't AT&T issue explanations for what it does?  I'm still trying to find 3 ATT/Yahoo e-mail sub-accounts that have not been able to access for over a year, yet they appear to third parties to be active, as no dead-end messages go out when e-mail is sent to them.

Hello @Stan_Dupp

We're glad to address your concerns regarding your U-verse services.

GOL TV is included with U200 Latino and above packages. Also, this channel is made available to our customers as an add-on service with PAQUETE ESPANOL.

Have you recently made any programming changes? What current services do you currently subscribe to with U-verse TV? The good news is, we still offer the channel. It appears that it's not part of your current subscription based on the error message currently displayed.

You should be able to upgrade your TV package with Account Manager for U-verse TV. You have already mentioned channel, 9910. To access Account Manager, go to that channel and follow these steps.

  1. Select Menu on your remote.
  2. Select Help
  3. Scroll to select Account > Account Manager TV Services. (If you'd like to browse to a different AT&T product like Internet or Phone services, you can do that from the Account Manager menu, too.)
  4. From the TV Services menu, select Upgrade Core Pkg.
  5. Select and upgrade your TV channels or compare packages.
  6. Confirm your order on screen.

Regarding your Yahoo email accounts, you mentioned non access for over a year. Are you using a client such as "outlook" or web based? If you need to set up a client, please refer to the following page for IMAP server settings.

You should be able to recover your Yahoo account by recovery information on the sign in page. You're likely going to need to reset the password, therefore follow that option,

If these address haven't been used prior to over a year ago, Yahoo did delete inactive email accounts for DSL and U-verse customers. With this process , data is no longer recoverable; however, the email address can still be recovered if you sign into the service again. Please know, it will be provisioned as a new mailbox.

I hope that you find this information helpful.

Re: GOL TV you wrote it "is included with U200 Latino and above packages"  I pay for U300 and Sports Package.  Is that "above" what you describe?  GOL TV is English language programming, not Latino.  It has been coming in on my wire for a long time--now suddenly I'm "not subscribed"? And I have no way to bring it back up?

Re: inability to access e-mail sub-accounts. you ask if I use a "client".  No, I get att.net e-mail at mail.yahoo.com and have for many years.  I had three active sub-accounts that somehow became inaccessible about 18 months ago.  Those e-mail addresses still appear on the list when I click on add/manage accounts, but trying to log onto them cycles me back to the primary account.  I need access to those accounts because they were used to register on certain websites.  Admit it--att and yahoo burned the bridge to those accounts, somehow, during their "separation" and then "non-separation" but they are still alive somewhere on the other side of the river and I can't get to them.  I have tried using an android device to get there, same result--all I could get to was the primary account.

Regardless of the language spoken, the U200 and U300 Latino packages do include GOL TV, whereas the "normal" U200 and U300 do not.  I can no longer find a definition of what is in the "Sports Package."

Well . . . you won't find GOL TV listed anywhere among the "Latino packages" either, as of 7/20/2020, on the Uverse Channel Lineup list.  It does appear that GOL TV was used as a fill-in over the past several months while most live U.S. sports were shut down.  And since MLB and MLS are resuming now, the objective is to re-direct eyeballs where the advertising is--so GOL TV gets whacked.  Too bad, because as pure entertainment, Nino Torres calling soccer matches from Ecuador and Uruguay and Portugal while sitting (I think) in a TV studio in Florida, is far better than most of what else appears across the board.  He made me become a fan.  And whoever decided to cut that channel off is contemptible.

I'll tell you what, AT&T, if it's conserving bandwidth you're worried about, I'll keep paying what I'm paying and swap you everything above channel 1800 for GOL TV.  Wait--I'll do better--everything above 1800 plus 25--no fifty (50) other channels you can have back, so long as I get to pick which ones, if I can keep GOL TV.  Most of what I'm paying for is garbage.  If I could keep 20 channels of my choice, including GOL TV, I would be happy.  Your customer service is non-existent--indeed it now should be called "customer manipulation".  You and Yahoo destroy 3 important e-mail account of mine--never admitted it--never gave an explanation.  You announce you are separating from Yahoo, but you don't.  And my e-mail url is always yahoo.  Now you have "Currently" (whatever that is supposed to be) with the Yahoo logo all over it--but when I try to log onto my lost e-mail accounts, I get circled back to the primary.  Never an attempt at an explanation from you.  Living in China, being dependent on online sources for everything, subject to complete control by the government, is only about a half-step beyond what AT&T has become.

GOL TV was there yesterday (in the Spanish packages), I looked it up.  It is not there today.  So, as of the morning of 7/20/2020 it was there.  As of the evening, not.  Something is going on, but I don't know what.

I've had U-300 for the past several years. I've never had GolTV outside the random free preview, usually at Thanksgiving, before that preview slimmed down.

I posted this elsewhere, so apologies for the double info:

There was a huge "stay at home" preview for U-Verse starting in like April or so. It was a ton of channels plus many of the non-sports Spanish-language channels. GolTV was included. I have U-300, so all I really got was a week or so of HBO/Cinemax a few months ago, the half-month of Epix that same month, the non-sports HD Premium Tier (ended a while ago) and the Spanish-language channels I previously mentioned. Customers to lower tiers got many of the U-300/200 channels as well.

The U-XXX Latino runs parallel to the U-200. It's essentially the same thing with the Spanish-language channels added.

AFAIK, the sports tier is:

647 -- Fox College Sports Atlantic

648 -- FCS Central

649 -- FCS Pacific

672 -- TVG2

I don't think GolTV is on anything but the Spanish-language package, but it's in the 650-range, so it *could* be sports tier.

It is again showing in all of the Latino packages on the website.  It could have been just a network error building this list this AM.

Now, in an apparent act of contempt, AT&T sends me an e-mail from an "Automated Mailbox" headed "Reminder To Accept Solution on your post" and wants me to acknowledge that my issues were resolved in this thread.  Dear AT&T: there was no "solution" offered here.  Your contempt for your paying customers is frightening, actually.

I don't know who you are, but that post is nothing but more insulting, non-responsive rubbish coming through this anonymous channel--and it's all anyone can get out of AT&T.  Roll your eyes right out the window, for all I care.  Telling me I can shut off the manipulative insults from AT&T puts you right down to their level.  How much do they pay you?

@Stan_Dupp , skeeter was trying to help.  The forum software is designed around getting content and making it available.  It wants to get responses marked as solutions so that it can try to share those solutions.  It's legitimately trying to figure out if you've gotten a solution.  Obviously you haven't, but the software didn't know that.

To be honest, I feel the same way when I get that message when I'm waiting for our Community Manager contacts within AT&T to get back to me about a question/issue.  And I often do post in the thread to let the AT&T C.M. know that the forum software prompted me to accept an answer and I'm still looking for it.

Nobody who targets you with an "eyeroll" is "trying to help".

Understand the point: this company, AT&T (formerly Southwestern Bell), who I pay money to for essential services, has done me damage by mismanaging its e-mail service, destroying my access to some accounts, yet puts itself behind an impenetrable wall.  Its indifference to the way that e-mail interface operates is appalling.  It also arbitrarily changes up the TV service I pay for, with no explanation.  Then it puts a message on the screen saying "go to X to subscribe" but there is no way to subscribe at X.  Insult added to injury.  Then it sets up an automatic "reminder" for me to click somewhere to acknowledge that "my problem" is solved.  That is completely manipulative.  Anybody who defends it is part of the problem.  This site was one way to try and get through, I thought, but obviously not.  You can spray perfume on it all night, but it will still stink in the morning.

I have to give kudos to anyone that has that much passion for a TV network.

I suppose I would feel the same way is they dropped HGTV or Bravo.  *shrug*
