my bill shows I am being charged for both receivers in my home I thought first one was free?
I have been a customer on Uverse since 2009. Recently, one of my two receivers in my home stopped working correctly and had to be swapped out. My bill has always shown my first receiver was at no charge and my second receiver was charged at $10.00 a month. When I got an email from ATT showing my "changes" to my account, it now shows I am being billed for both receivers at $10.00 each. Has ATT started charging for every receiver in the house? Is this something that recently occurred?
When I contacted ATT about the new charge, the customer service person took the charge off. When he did that, it disabled my first receiver, so I had no service at that box. It has been a comedy of errors for almost a week now.
To get the first receiver back working, tech support in my second call got the receiver back working again, but my new updated bill shows the $10.00 charge BACK on my bill. What gives?

I believe you were grandfathered in for that discount up until you made any change to your service. Now everyone pays for the additional receivers (not counting dvr). I don't recall the date the policy was changed but it's been at least a few years now.

Unless it's part of a new customer discount, each receiver is $10 a month. I believe a DVR is included in the package price but STBs carry a monthly fee. I've had my account for so long I stopped looking at my bill. 😴

Thanks for your reply.. This new charge happened when I had to swap out the main receiver thats with my gateway. The ATT guy took my old one and gave me a new one. Suddenly my bill of over 10 years included the added fee for that reciever plus tax. I think they have made a mistake but everytime I call to correct the bill, they take the charge off and disconnect one of my receivers, leaving me with only one working TV in the house. Frustrating and I dont know what to do other than cancel my TV service and go with cable. I have called no less than 6 times in the past month.
Anyone out there who may have gone through this with their Uverse service? Like I say, the main DVR thats closest to the gateway and connected to the main TV in the LR is now no longer free with my U200 package. This is not a promo expired, this happened in August when one of my equipment went bad on me. Thanks!

Thanks for your response, I appreciate the input.
Now that I know this is yet another charge for subpar TV programming full of home shopping channels, I'm looking into another provider for my TV service.
