@dbreen555 Did you make sure you pressed the ATT button upper left to get back Uverse control after installing batteries?

Hi @dbreen555
I'm sorry to hear that your remote control has stopped working but I'll be glad to help. Have you tried performing a factory reset to the remote control? Doing a factory reset will put the remote back to the default settings resulting in loss of programming to the TV but, it might help restore communication with the receiver.
Of course, this is optional but to perform the reset, use the steps below:
1. Press and hold the AT&T button along with the OK button. Hold both buttons for one second and then release. All the Mode buttons flash twice.
2. Enter 900 using the numeric buttonpad. The AT&T button gives a long flash indicating successful programming. The remote is returned to factory default.
I hope this helps! If it still doesn't work then send a response to my private message in your Forum inbox and we'll help you with a replacement! 🙂

I haven't had good luck with the Uverse remotes myself. They seem to die early. The Uverse techs here carry a box of them and I've had no problem getting a new one from them when I see one around.

Is it getting stuck in the furniture? That can cause phantom button presses that wear the batteries down. Know here mine does that ocassionally too. 😉

No, they just seem to stop working consistently. I use a Harmony in the den, but the original remotes I use in the bedroom I keep on the nightstand. I suspect I could pop them open and clean off the circuit board. My biggest disappointment was the point anywhere that only lasted about a year. It's a little more expensive to replace, as the techs don't carry those.

I have silver and black remotes, the silver remotes work all but the volume down button, I can turn them up but not down. The black ones work just fine though.
When the volume down button is pressed not even the back light doesn't come on. If it were just one remote I would think it was a problem with that one but three of them do the same thing.
I am just gonna buy a few more black remotes on eBay, I can get 10 remotes (S10-S3) for $15.
